I just booked for our pre-cruise night at Hampton Inn for $81 (non-view room, AAA rate). I was going to book the Cruise Package (for $119) but the lady I talked to said that it would be cheaper to book just the room.

She said we could just leave the car in their lot even without the cruise package and arrange for shuttle separately. She said shuttle is $8 for 4 people one-way.

I'm cancelling my reservation at the Radisson for $119. I think this would be a better deal. We also get free breakfast at Hampton Inn.

Anybody have any bad experiences at Hampton Inn?

Thanks,
jdlr

You will LOVE your stay at the Hampton. It is very nice. A nice pool plus a short walk to the beach (down their board walk). It was so convenient being able to get up and shower at our convenience and go to breakfast as we were ready - and the next person was showering. Show your room key at Ron Jon's Surf shop and you will receive a discount off of your purchases.

Here is the pool -

The hotel does look really nice in your pictures!

The proximity to the beach I think will be a really nice plus for us. We will be driving down for ~11 hours so I nice stroll along the beach when we get there would be great for our cramped legs. I hope the weather turns out to be wonderful!

By the way, did you leave your car at the hotel or leave it in the Disney port parking lot?

This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise (Western 5/24/03) and the first two we parked in the Port Parking Lot. This is the first time we will be staying overnight the night before at the Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach. We got the Cruise Package about 5 mos. ago and it's $105. It includes the shuttle the next morning and you leave your car in the hotel lot. If you decide to drive and park your car in the Port Lot, I believe it's $10/day now (not sure).

My only concern is how secure is the hotel parking lot? Do we park in a certain area that is monitored? Anyone know?

the parking is just in an open lot. We stay there and then pay to put our car in the Port Parking Lot. We just feel like the car and contents are safer there.
We stayed there two years ago and noticed fruit loops around the bed the next morning when I picked up my shoes. I mentioned this to the desk clerk so they would be sure and get it cleaned for the next guests. She apologized and would not charge us for our stay. On top of that we got our points for the Hilton Honnors club as if we had paid.

We also did not like our stay there - We had just gotten in from our 5 hour flight - Got in around 6PM - We did not rent a car(so you having a car will have an upper hand) We were very hungary for something to eat since all we had was airline food -

One problem - There is no restuarant at the hotel - No room service - If we wanted food, we had to go to the hotel next door which also did not have a restuarant, but had a bar that served bar food! That was a bummer - Especially since we had our 4 year old with us.

They do have breakfast in the morning(free) - But you have to go down and get it - We almost missed it due to our jet lag - When we walked down, they were cleaning up and we had grab food as fast as we could if we wanted to eat!

We also earn HH points, but would've gladly traded them in for a nicer stay!

I know a lot of people do not have a problem with this hotel - Just wanted to let you know of our experience.

You scared me for minute! Until I read further, I was thinking Oh No! But, as you mentioned, the problems you had were problems for you, especially since you did not have a car. Since we drive from Tampa and will have a car, the eating problems will not be problems for us. I actually don't know many Hampton Inns (nor many other such chains) that have restaurants in the hotel unless you want to pay a lot more and as for the breakfast being downstairs, my DH always goes down and gets a tray of stuff for all of us and does "room service" for us - lol!

I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience there, but I can understand your situation of not having a car.

Thanks for sharing.
