Has anyone been? and is it amazingly cheap and glorious as the website looks?

I think they have opened near Churchstreet?

I can't post the link yet as i'm still a newbie, but its easy to find on google.

I havent yet, but burgers are my favorite food group! :rotfl:

We've already been several times! It's part of Church Street Station.

It's wonderful! I LOVE the "Buffy the Hamburger Slayer"

Scott and I were fans of the West Hollywood and Dallas Hamburger Mary's locations, so we were ecstatic that one was opening in Orlando. As an added bonus, it's right next door to "The Desser Lady"!

Excuse me, I've got to go wipe the drool out of my keyboard now . . .

We LOVED the Hamburger Mary's here! They co-sponsored the AIDS Walk float in the Pride parade one year and we had the BEST time! If it is like the one here was, it is fabulous! :thumbsup2

Actually, I think this one may even be better!

I was sorry to hear the one in Dallas had closed. I think it would have worked a lot better if they hadn't been in that location. That location is a "restaurant killer"

We like the one out in San Diego. :thumbsup2 Although I think it may have closed.:confused3

It did. They're closing and opening them all the time, I think they have really bad franchise management. We had one in Long Beach, then it was gone for a few years and another bar took it's place, and now they are back again.

If I remember correctly, Hamburger Mary's in San Diego was very good. Not one of my "top-10 places" or anything, but still very fun and satisfying. It was the first place I ate my first/only time to California....so it holds fond memories. :goodvibes

That spot is the kiss of death. I can't even remember what is there now - I don't think it is a restaurant, but it might be. I don't know if it is because the parking is so bad or what, but NOTHING ever survives there! What I find odd is that Gloria's has been on that corner forever, the people who work there are RUDE, and they are still open! :confused3 I prefer to go to Uncle Julio's across the street. :snooty:

I really think that was the appeal. It was fun! I am trying to remeber, I know we went last time but I thought it had a different name. Just not sure what it was!

Now the Hash House.....talk about good food!

I was never all that impressed with Uncle Julio's. Especially when Mia's is just a half block down the street and is SO much better. And I REALLY miss Herrera's since moving here. That was my favorite Mexican Food restaurant in Dallas.

Urban Mo's took the place of Hamburger Mary's, but if you are ever in San Diego the Hash House is my favorite restaurant in the city too! God I want one of those biscuits now, but I'm not allowed to eat anything else for the rest of teh year.

I don't like Mexican food. :scared1: I know. Scandalous.
Julio's was a huge LifeWalk sponsor (they donated tons of food for the VIP area, supplied tons of volunteers, and were just generally awesome). My loyalty to Oak Lawn businesses hinged on their LifeWalk contributions. If they supported my event, I supported their business.

Now that I am out of the volunteer arena I don't ever venture to Oak Lawn. We live in Preston Hollow.

my obvious answer is, "is anything as cheap and glorious" as it looks on a website? Mary's at a corporate level fell apart a couple years ago, most of the restaurants have changed their name from the Marys brand. the one in Orlando has good management and good food.

Great stuff!

quite excited now, as i havn't been to churchstreet for years and i think i just found a perfect reason for a revisit.

What's the Desser Lady???

The Dessert Lady is a little slice of heaven!

In that "a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips" kind of way.

It's a restaurtant that serves nothing but generous portions of the most decadent desserts (well, I think they've got a couple sandwiches and quiches for lunch) along with coffees and wines.

For instance, she doesn't make her bread pudding with bread. She uses CAKE!

Here I go, drooling into my keyboard again . . .

I used to work at a cafe that made their white chocolate bread pudding with croissants. And topped it with caramel sauce. It was awesome and I don't even like bread pudding.

Hamburger Mary's menu looks good, and the prices look reasonable. I'll have to check it out sometime. I love a good burger.

I've been to the Hamburger Mary's they had in Hawaii.
Is it the same chain?
That one had a gay bar connected.
