Hallway traffic - deck 7 aft

I am trying to decide between cabins on deck 6 aft and deck 7 aft. I am wondering if the verandah at the back of deck 7 would cause many extra people to be going past my doorway. Maybe I have read one too many posts about noisy teens hanging out there..

I was on the Deck 7 verandah several times last week and never saw another soul there! :) the door is only open between 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., too. so you won't have any late night traffic even if some people on your cruise know about it! :)

Deck 7 aft is VERY quiet. As much as you hear talk of the secret verandah, I think very few people actually spend time there. There's just so much else to do, and a lot of the deck 7 guests have their own verandahs. We stayed in 7112 on our first cruise, and it was great :)

We always stay Deck 7 aft - Love it! Quiet and just up a flight of stairs to the buffet, pools, and drink station!

We were just outside of the "secret" Deck 7 open deck on the 5/15 cruise. There was NEVER any traffic outside of our room, and the most noise we ever heard was
1) the stateroom next to us with someone snoring
2) the vibration of the ship when it was turning/docking on port days (WOW, what a way to wake up--the whole room shook and this was DECK 7!)

Other than that the location is quiet, nice to be close to a "private" deck, and convenient to topsiders/drink station.

We've stayed Deck 7 aft twice and I don't recall anymore traffic than when we stayed deck 7 forward

We were in room 7623 last Oct and there was no noise that we heard. Like a previous poster said, we heard the motor (engine) of the ship more than we did hallway noise. We are assigned the same room for our cruise in Sept.

Was in 7612 on the 5/1 Eastern cruise and never had any problems with noise whatsoever. Great location, as far as I'm concerned.

I'll hop in with a "me too" on this one. We've cruised 12 times now (11 magic, 1 wonder) and have always booked on deck 7 aft. We've stayed in 7106 (my favorite so far), and several of the category 7 rooms on deck 7, and unless someone wants to put me in a suite, we'll always book in this location. We like that it's close to the back deck, the stairs and elevators (I mean "lifts"). It makes it easy to get around the ship, especially to run up and grab a cup of coffee in the mornings.

Our cabin was deck 6, slightly aft but I definitely want to book Deck 7 aft next time. We thoroughly enjoyed the "secret" deck 7 aft and there was only 1 other person out there at the time. It was very quiet walking through the halls on Deck 7 aft to the stairs to the secret deck, and we found the aft elevators generally less crowded.

How rough is the ride back there? We are in 7123 for our next cruise.

I never feel the ship's motion more (or less) from fore to aft. I tend to notice it when I'm higher up on the ship, but after the first night, I hardly notice it at all. I guess I mean to say that the ride isn't any rougher on deck 7 aft than anywhere else on the ship, IMHO.

Hi Ladypoo we're in 7623 for our first cruise in october, how is the room , do you have any photos ?
Thanks Traycie

We were in 7629 last July and I loved the room. When the ship was rocking (and it did some, toward the end of the cruise more) the beds weren't rocking with the ship so you didn't feel like you were going to fall out of bed. The bed was moving head to foot rather than side to side. And that made me sleep better too. As far as noise, the only noise we heard was the engine as well. And even that was a soothing noise. Plus when I sleep I have an earplug in the ear that isn't against the pillow so I rarely heard anything (I would put it in after my dd came back from the teen club).

In Sept we will be in the room behind 7629 (that is on the other hallways but I can't remember the number).

I love this thread! I just finished booking our very first cruise last week and reserved rooms 7627 and 7629, very close to the secret verandah. These posts are great, thanks everyone!

On the plans in the DCL Passporter it shows a "secret" deck aft 8. Is this open to the public? I never see anyone discussing it here.

We stayed in the handicap room right next to secret deck 7 and it was VERY quiet as far as hallway noise went but boy were we woken up everytime we went into port by the creaking and banging! But I would book back there again any day! Quick run up to topsiders, bring a tray down and eat out on your verandah.

Thanks for all the responses. And I THINK I can answer this one. I just saw a photo of it somewhere, and it said that it was smaller than the one on deck 7 and no lounge chairs.
