Hallowishes or Happily Ever After at California Grill?

I have an ADR for CA Grill at 7:40 on a Hallowishes night, and a 7:10 on a Happily Ever After night, which is also our last night in the World (insert sad face). I am looking to keep only one ADR.

Q1: is 7:40 too early for Hallowishes viewing? Do they start at 10pm?
Q2: is Hallowishes much different than HEA? Is it worth trying to see from CA Grill or should we just watch from the Poly beach (we are staying at the Poly)

FYI: I know it is best to view from inside MK, but my husband refuses to be inside MK during the mass exodus after fireworks!

Both shows are pretty different.

We love watching HalloWishes from the beach at The Poly, especially if you are staying there. They do put images on the castle which you would not be able to see as well from that far away - but they also do surround fireworks and the view of them from outside the park is great. Also, you can only see HalloWishes from inside the park if you have tickets to MNSSHP (I know you do not want to be inside the park). Your reservations are a little early for HalloWishes - not sure of the time - we have not done the party in a few years. I believe if you ate dinner there, you can go back to watch the fireworks at night.

I have not see Happily Ever After from inside the park yet - we saw it this past July from 'Ohana. As CG is closer to the MK I would think you might be able to see some of the images from there.

If you're not going to MNSSHP, then I'd definitely recommend seeing Hallowishes from CG. It's a great show, but different from HEA. But...JMHO...HEA is better enjoyed "in person". That's just all how I see it. I'm sure everyone has their own opinions....like your husband, for instance.
