Halloween's Almost Here - Any Good Ghost...

Ok, it's not technically a ghost story, but it is really scary and true...which is worse IMHO.

I haven't seen a ghost to my knowledge, but I think DD Remy has. She was barely two when she started talking to ***. I refuse to say it's name because I will have nightmares. At first I blew it off and figured it was normal imaginary thing, I hesitate to call it a "friend", but as time passed I decided to talk to her doctor about it. She would hit herself and have scratches on her and blame ***. I was scared to death one day because we were in the car when she started screaming and hitting herself in the face saying it was ***! I admit I started sobbing and started yelling at Remy to stop it. She also started having night terrors. The doctor said it was normal, but I couldn't deal with it and told Remy that *** was not welcome in our house and couldn't come "play" anymore. That is when she started sitting at the window and whispering. When I asked what she was doing she said she was talking to ***. She also said *** was very angry with me and wanted to hurt me. Remember she was barely two at this time so I got sucked in and found myself totally paranoid thinking that maybe *** was real. My family thought I was making too much out of it until Remy stayed the night at my mom's and *** came over (or so Remy told us). It scared my mom so bad she refused to let Remy stay the night anymore. *** was apart of our lives until right before Remy turned three and my aunt died of cancer. Then *** vanished and Remy stopped talking to it. She said Aunt Faye made *** go home. So far we have not heard from *** again but I still freak out when anyone mentions it's name.

Remyandhollandsmommy, that is a little TOO close to home!! There is a similar story in my DHs family also involving a woman "spirit" in their house scaring their 4yo son. I'll see if I can find out the details...

Anybody have any Friendly Ghost stories?? Or animal ghost stories?

I'll post it here again...sorry it's so long lol.

My aunt (mom's sister) died in Nov of 81 right before her 21st birthday. I was just 5 years old at the time and my mom always told me that I was her pride and joy..in aunt sort of way I guess. She was found dead in her apartment and there was a big hush hush deal about it. I won't get into details but basically the family never really found out the real cause of death and were told to "drop it". After her death my family would recieve phone calls with no one on them and have strange experiences. In one instance, my aunt decided to hop in the tub in the middle of the day and someone knocked on the door. My cousin who wasn't even two at the time went to the door to see who was knocking. (why she was running around by herself and answering the door I dont know..she does have older siblings but I dont know if they were at home) My cousin then goes into the bathroom and my aunt asked who was there and my cousin says "It was aunt judy" (name changed to protect identity) My aunt was of course freaked out because not only had her sister recently died, but my cousin had never even seen her before because she lived in another city.

Years went by and the strange things started to calm down a bit. One year on my birthday I had a small slumber party and we were all in my room goofing around. Someone suddenly slammed the door shut and as it was shutting I turned around and in the instant it took for the door to slam shut I saw a woman standing in the door. Knowing that my mom was the only adult in the house at the time I was a little freaked. Needless to say I'm the only one who saw this woman and everyone else thought I was crazy. I went into the living room where my mom had fallen asleep and I asked her if she had just been in the hall way and she said no. I knew it wasnt her anyway since this woman was tall and blonde and wasn't wearing anything CLOSE to what my mom was wearing! I didn't tell my mom what I had seen at that time.

A few more years went by and I was in highschool. My best friend who had spent a lot of nights at my house and I were talking. I decided to confide in her and tell her what I had seen. Her eyes grew rather large and her jaw dropped. She confessed that on many occasions she has awoken in the middle of the night to see a woman standing at the edge of my bed. She said she was scared and just put her head under the covers but never told me. I wasn't sure she was telling the truth so I asked her to describe her to me. It was the exact description of what I had seen! We were completely freaked out so we decided to speak to our youth pastor at church. She told us that we had not seen a ghost because the bible said they do not exist..once your dead..your dead and you dont come back. She insisted what we had seen was a demon trying to pose as someone I cared about to get me to indulge in the occult. Of course this really scared the crap out of us. I went home that night and decided to tell my mom everything.

As I began to tell her she looked at me like I had gone insane and then when I told her what the church had said she literally burst out laughing. I then told her I could describe to her exactly what the woman looked like. She took me up on the offer so I began to describe her. I started to describe her and I saw my mom's jaw drop nearly to the floor. She herself turned white as a ghost. After asking her what was wrong she told me that the description I had just given her was the exact description of my aunt and the description of the clothes was the exact description of what my aunt was wearing when she was buried. Since I was only 5 at the time of her death I did not go to the funeral so I had no way of knowing what she was wearing. My mom was in such a deep depression for a long time after my aunt died that she never talked about it. I never saw IT again but I often see things out the corner of my eyes and there are times when you can just feel someone there.

Does anyone know anything about the hospital in Laurel MS that has burned down?
