My family spent Halloween day at DL a couple of years ago and loved it. We are planning to go this year the last week in Sept, so we are hoping to catch the party again. We essentially paid twice to get into DL on that Halloween. Sorry if I'm explaining myself poorly, but we used a regular ticket to enter the park early in the day. If we only had that ticket, we would have had to leave the park early. Once it came time to pick up our wristbands that proved we were ticket holders for the Halloween party, we were able to stay for the remainder of the evening. Park traffic was definitely light early in the day. The crowd increased noticeably, but by then we rode pretty much everything we wanted and were free to experience the party as we wished. I found that the lines for the candy went by really fast despite being very long, so don't let the line deter you from your candy! I think we only went through 3 different lines, but by then, our kid had plenty of sweets. I enjoyed the fire works show a lot. The parade seemed pretty short, but for us, that was the only criticism we had. Towards the end of the night, we were surprised to see a "good night" show featuring all the villains by the main train station. We didn't see it announced in our program, and felt lucky to have caught the show. It's really hard (and frustrating) to impress my husband, so if he has anything good to say about anything, you know it's worth it! It's also very cool to see the creative costumes other visitors come up with. I know you'll have a great time!
