HIGHS:
1. The Disney Dreams Show: Absolutely stunning. Loved it !
2. The Terrorific Night: Intensely spooky and incredible atmosphere generally.
3. The Halloween Party: Excellent. Lots to do and didn't get to see everything as there was so much going on. Generally loved the Halloween decorations and entertainment in the park, but missed the pumpkin men. Loved the Dr Facilier showboat performance.
4. Interactions with Jack and Sally and the Disney Villains ..... they were excellent and so in character.
5. The hot chocolate: the weather was freezing and these were delicious and a great excuse to thaw out. Plus if you bought two drinks you got a coupon
to get a free one between 3 and 6pm
6. Great meals generally: Rainforest Cafe, Earl of Sandwich, Le Grange and Planet Hollywood all good and generally better than expected.
7. Fabulous lunch in Agrabah Cafe with hubby on last day ... would definitely recommend this experience. Just a pity we had to rush it as we had to get to the airport.
8. RS Transports / Blue Shuttle ( same company ) Excellent service ... had to wait on arrival but that was my fault as I anticipated a longer time getting through the airport, but a lovely warm minibus, comfortable trip and picked up perfectly on time.
9. Loved the Magic Parade : )
LOWS !! ( a few but they didn't spoil our experience, I sometimes feel having had so many fantastic DLRP trips that our expectations may be a bit high sometimes )
1. The cold temperatures .... and not being prepared with clothing etc as expecting mild autumnal weather as we have experienced there before in October. Had to go to the mall to buy fleeces / gloves etc on the first day in order to survive.
2. The crowds !!!! Way busier than we have experienced before at Halloween. However I suppose it was to be expected as coincided with UK and France half terms. Wait times for rides were unreal .... managed to work around it as we were there for 6 days and had time to work around the longer wait times, but some days we only did one or two attractions.
3. Smoking everywhere ...... even in the wait lines
Yet the designated smoking areas were always empty.
4. Personal bugbear: People gathering around fastpass entrances with non-active tickets which stop you getting through with an active ticket. When you do push your way through you get comments and daggers thrown at you yet they can't even go on the ride yet. Had a bit of a run-in with a woman on one occasion, who accused us of pushing in the line with our active fastpass tickets and it turned out she was waiting there with something that wasn't even a fastpass ticket ... she was just blocking the whole entrance ! Grrrrrrr !!!
5. Disorganisation generally, in the food ordering lines, at the entrances, and particular at the annual pass centre where we spent almost 2 hours in line on the first day as the whole process is painfully slow.
6. Getting to studios early to ride Crush's Coaster and then being told it wasn't likely to be working until 11am. Decided to wait in the line as we were fairly near the front and that's what we had gone there specifically to do. So we waited, and chatted to people in the line and it was fairly pleasant, until they started to let us in, after waiting 90 mins in the cold, and then we were totally gobsmacked when a man walked into the line directly in front of us, with a small daughter in tow, just as we went into the attraction. The group in front of us ahead of him turned and had an almightly go at him, and then informed the cast member who did nothing
And he carried on in the line as hard faced as you like, and all the way to the loading area all those around him were being very loudly critical about how disgusted they were and how rude he was etc. I couldn't believe it myself that he had the audacity to do it, with a small child, and to stay there in the face of all that abuse.
7. The Hotel Adagio: Not really a LOW as such as it suited our purposes as a group of 6, but the room was a bit shabby with very marked walls and even a couple of squished mozzies on the walls. Great to be close to the mall as we picked up breakfast stuff and the warm weather clothing we needed easily. The free shuttle was usually great but there were some big gaps in the times which made it difficult sometimes. Plus the last bus was 11:30 ish at night and the Dreams Show was at 10pm so sometimes we just got a cab back as it was too cold to hang around.
Will do a more detailed review of our experiences at the Halloween Party and the Terrorific Night once I get my photos uploaded etc.
