We are going from the 27th of October to November 4. We have tickets to the party on Halloween and then have a day off then will be back to HS on Wed and MK on Thursday.

What type of Christmas decor should we expect to see around? Any rides already transformed? What to prep my AU kiddo in case it’s not totally transformed like we think.

You'll see a complete change over from Fall/Halloween decorations to Christmas when you enter the next park after Halloween.

It takes about a week to complete the Christmas makeover nowadays. Magic Kingdom's holiday festivities begin Nov. 8. The following week, the Disney resorts add decorations. Epcot's festivities begin Nov. 25.

I'd anticipate only seeing some holiday decor at Disney Springs to encourage Christmas shopping. Then anything else you see by Nov. 4th would be bonus. Sorry.

Will Magic Kingdom start to make it's shift to Christmas overnight? Will we be able to enjoy some Christmas decor?

The first holiday party isn't until November 8th so I wouldn't expect the park to be decorated completely until closer to then. Not to say they won't begin early, as I would think it would be done before the first weekend in November, but anything is possible.

In the past, redecorating MK has been done immediately after the close of the final MNSSHP--literally overnight.

No idea if that's still the case so can only hope you do get to see the MK mostly decorated.

The big tree in Town Square doesn't go up until after Christmas Parade taping has been done to allow for distance shots down Main Street. You may be disappointed if expecting to see it.

Looking at my camera roll from various Wine & Dine weekends…
11/5/16: friendship faire had a Christmas finale tag, castle dreamlight show, tree up
11/4/2017: Christmas lights up on sunset boulevard when running 10k in studios
11/1/2018: gingerbread displays at contemporary
11/3/2018: tree in Magic
11/2/2019: jingle cruise overlay
While 2020 races were virtual we still did a long weekend…
11/6/2020 decorations up in studios as was seasonal treats like red velvet Whoopi pie in backlot express, tree stroll at springs
11/7/2020: tree in Magic as well as Christmas cavalcades, distanced character costumes, treats, projection show
11/8/2020: Christmas cavalcades DAK
11/5/2021: Christmas decorations/tree stroll springs
11/6/2021: Christmas decorations in studios during 10k & on mainstreet during the day

Magic Kingdom will have an incredible transformation overnight Oct 31st. I would expect it to be the same this year since they are back to parties and they have it down to a science. Might not be every detail they add but it will be quite impressive.

See the transformation here ~

Since the other parks and hotels have no Halloween to remove, their Christmas & Holiday decorations may get put up at a slower pace. Agree anything you see there would be bonuses!

Yes...things will be evident the very morning. Although it is not finished overnight like some believe, many of the changes will be evident as soon as you get to the tapstiles.

In the lengthy "Disney News, Discussion & An Element of Fun" thread, Nov. 1st posts from 2021 begin on page 526. There are plenty of posts with photos showing the initial Christmas decorations seen in the MK and other parks, as well as on later dates through that week. Scroll through to look at photos posted in real time. 🎄 Especially look for photos posted by @mrsap and note the dates that they were posted. Some Christmas decorations, particularly on Main St. will go up after the Halloween Night party ends at MK. Other decorations will be added throughout the week leading up to the first Christmas party.

But as mentioned by others above, you can be fairly confident that you WILL be able to see some beautiful decorations on your Thursday 11/3 at MK and even possibly on your Wednesday 11/2 at HS. Who knows what this year's schedule will be for completion. Have a fun trip!!! :goodvibes
