Halloween time?

I can't decide if it's worth it. I've always wanted up go for Halloween and to see
Their fireworks but don't know if it's worth the money.

I absolutely love the Halloween Season. The pumpkin people and the villains are fantastic. I'm going this year with my friend and hope it's as good as it used to be xx

We did the Halloween soiree in 2008 and it was just GREAT, we had a ball and even though it costed us quite a lot it was well worth it.
I have never been again since so can't tell how it is now...

here is a link at my trip report

It is nothing anymore compared to what it was back then.
It's a completely different evening!
There are some great things, but it's a let down if you went in the earlier years.

There are no pumpkin boys and girls anymore. The season got completely changed!
I do miss some bits like more decs in Frontierland, the pumpkin boys and girls etc.
But it's a really strong season now! The Cavalcade definitely changed for the better!
Als the Villains Mix & Mingle (now called Maleficent's Court) is better than it used to be.

Is there a way to find out what they have planned for the party?

No, they won't tell that until a few days before the party.
And by then it's all sold out.
But I can tell you, since it has been the same for a few years.

* Goofy's Shake Your Bones Drum show - it's okay to see if you need to kill some time.
* Minnie's Pirate Academy - a 20 minute show which is fantastic.
* Discoveryland Disco Party - just loudly playing hitlist music, nothing too interesting.

And then there's Dreams, Villains Promenade and Halloween Cavalcade.
But there's are all the exact same ones as the ones during the day.

Apart from that there are lots of characters out.
The problem is just that they all come out at 20:30 and leave by 22:30.
So they're only out for 2 hours on a 6-hour event.
And queues are about an hour long, if not more, so you're lucky to meet a maximum of 2 characters.

No last year the program was released on the 28th Oct.

There were various rumours that started after the official press release covering the Halloween season, that came out on the 20th of August, but nothing official until the 28/10.

I wouldn't book specially for the party. Come and see the Halloween season if you've never seen it but not just for one nights events that might or might not be depending on your pov fantastic.

I have a copy of the program from last year I will see if I can upload a pic tonight.

Totally agree with this. As I said earlier, we didn't do the party but didn't feel we missed out at all as all the main Villains were out all weekend anyway. The fact that we had the Studios (which rarely has an EMH) mostly to ourselves the next morning for almost 2 hours more than made up for it tbh. I do think the soiree is more for much older children and adults tbh - some of the costumes we saw coming in were quite severe and there were lots of big groups of adults showing up too.

As for the pumpkin men - as DLRPWonders says, they were exclusively in Frontierland this year but actually, I really liked that - it made it more an 'area' and the theming for Jack & Sally was amazing in there too. There were so many cool props to have photos taken with!

And the ghosts (which have replaced the pumpkin men) on Main Street were great too - they weren't to everyone's taste - maybe a bit cute but we loved them and the spooky noises some of them made as you walked past were funny . We spent about 45 mins waiting for the parade to pass in Town Square on the Saturday (it was a beautiful day so we just people watched) and my DDs were kept amused looking at the pumpkins and ghosts around and listening to their sounds :thumbsup2

If it weren't for our trip to WDW this year, I'd go again this Halloween but probably stay for longer. We could only do the 2 nights last time as we were booked to see the Lion King musical the day before we flew to Paris and didn't want to miss that ;).

Having said all that, when I came back, I read a few people on here saying it wasn't so good and they didn't enjoy it/too busy etc. I don't know why we found it so unlike this? Maybe we just planned it that way? Oh and btw, we caught the front end of Halloween in 2008 too - loved the Pumpkin men on Main Street but felt the autumnal decs/ghosts/pumpkin men in FL this year were just as nice and tied in with the cavalcade theming etc.
