Halloween questions

Hi all. I'm new, please go easy on me.

We're taking the kids, 10 and 7, to SoCal on October 7-15. We've purchased the City Pass and tickets to the Friday the 7th Halloween Party at Disneyland.

A little online research tells me that Sea World and Legoland do Halloween activities on weekends in October. Has anyone been to either of these events?

We wanted to avoid Disney on weekends anyway, so I was thinking we could do Legoland on Saturday the 8th and Sea World on Sunday the 9th. But, I don't want to dedicate the weekend to them if the festivities aren't worth wasting a Disney extended weekend hours day on.

Also: Does anyone know if Universal Studios does any Halloween festivities in October?

Thanks in advance.

Universal does, and it's focussed on scaring the wits out of you. May be too much for the kids. I haven't though of it like this before and wonder if someone has taken kids and how it worked out.

Legoland has a special evening thing in October, similar to MMNSSHP. It's free with regular addmission or you can just go for the after 5pm activites. The do shut down some of the rides after 5, but it's still worth the money.
Our family has been going every year for the past 4 years and this is THE way to see legoland. We go in the morning while no one is there and get on the most popular rides first (sky cruisers and technic coaster). Then it's time for the brick or treat trail. It's a short little path where they give the kids candy, fruit, baseball cards, a magazine and LEGOS!!!!!! We love it so much.
Then we'll do the pirate shores and get wet and then have lunch next to the castle area. Afterwards, we'll do more rides and maybe the playground. Then we'll have a light dinner/snack and now it's 5. We'll have costumes in the car; we'll change and then comeback. Then we'll to the trail again and get more goodies!

I haven't done Sea World yet, but we plan to this year.

Ya universal has an awesome Halloween even but can get a little scary but all in all entertaining. I really don't think that Legoland event is worth skipping out on a great day at Disneyland (despite my refusal to go on a Saturday). It also depends how many chances you get to go. If you go to Disneyland often I would avoid it for Legoland but if not then go on a Saturday. Seaworld will be a good Sunday event.

Seaworld's Halloween is OK. There are 4 trick or treat stations to get a little bit of candy. The Sealion show staff usually wear costumes, but that is about it.
