I have tickets for the Halloween party on 9/14. What should we expect and do you have any tips?

My family went about 2 years ago. We had such a good time. The little one and some big one's dress up. There are alot of shows going on. Then all night the Whole family gets to trick or treat. It brings you back when you were a kid. I think we are going to go back next year. I can't wait. We just bought a house and our daughter will be one this october. So we figured we would wait until next year. I hope you have a great time. Oh yea the lines for the rides were nice and quick. If you are not interested in the fireworks you just walk on the rides.

Good luck .... Nancy

We went last year and the best tip we had was although the ticket says 7 o'clock start they will let you in earlier about 4 or 5 i think.

Keep in mind that the buses will be extremely crowded. When we went we were staying at BCV and we waited at the bus stop with a VERY large group of people who were all waiting for the same bus to MK. Finally, after waiting for over a 1/2 hour, we took a taxi. If you do not have a car, I would recomend springing for a taxi.

We to are going in Oct (25) and this is the first time at MNSSHP. I need all the tips I can get our flight gets in on the 25th at noon so we are resting and unpacking maybe hitting the pool and then off the the party. Can we really get in at 5ish instead of the printed 7. That will make a huge difference in our day plans. Thanks again for all the help. This board rocks.

The last 2 years we have gotten in at 4pm using our Halloween tickets. We are going the same night you are. We leave from Boardwalk and the buses are packed starting pretty early. Last year we headed that way a couple of hours early and goofed off on the monorail and resorts around MK until we could get in. This year we actually are going to the BBB to get DD's hair and nails done then off to Liberty Tree for dinner before hand. If you want the free face painting get in line early. We have never gotten it done because the wait was so long. Lots of characters are out and oddly enough the autograph lines seem shorter than normal. Have fun!

Thank you sooo much for the tips. We have a rental car and are staying at buena vista suites. so we will go to dinner early and head over around 4. Are you dressing up?? My daughter and I are going as 50's girls we have poodle skirts and instead of a poddle they have a mickey head. I am soo excited to go can't wait and thanks again for the tips keep them coming.

My daughter dresses up but due to the heat and the dreaded hot flashes I wear as little as possible. Thin shorts and a thin t-shirt. We can't wait to get there. We're staying 12 nights this year and are so looking forward to it. Got all of my ADR's, staying at BWV's, got a Wishes Cruise, and DD4 is getting to do the Pirate Cruise and the Madhatter Tea party. We are celebrating her 5th birthday and my husbands birthday while there so I have stuff planned they don't even know about.

sounds like alot of fun I hope you enjoy the wishes cruise and the tea party. Enjoy surprising your baughter and husband with all the fun you have planned. I am planning a cruise for nov 08 for DD 10th b day and we are not telling her until the day before which happens to be thanksgiving I thought I would do a little poem about what we are thankfull for and put the last line and we are thankfull for the disney cruise we will leave on tommarrow. we will see if she is paying attention at dinner huh. well have a good time and thanks agin for all the tips.

You guys are so lucky to go this year!!! I'm going in Oct. 2008... i will be celebrating Halloween there with the kids and my birthday... it will be passed but I will still celebrate it there.... ha! my B.I.L said that I deserve it... since this pass Feb. I through a huge masquarade bash for my husband's 40th birthday and this summer he surprised me with a.... Sorry but I found someone else that I have things in common with and now I want a divorce...
So next year... it's a big party time at Disney for me ha! ha!

we'll be going the 14th too. so excited :cool1: !! This will be our first time @ the halloween party too. (also kids first time at the world). I have heard it's great but am interested to see what everyone posts.

Does anyone know more about the face painting? ds loves star wars and heard @ MGM does that type of face painting. If so we thought we'd swing by their early in the am and get that done.:woohoo:

We are going, too! 1st time for MNSSHP...10/21-10/27...kids are dressing up...Mickey and Minnie, DD12, DS2...I heard...lots of characters...rare ones, too! Trick or treating, autographs, pics, LOTS of rides with VERY SHORT LINES! Awesome!!!! Special Halloween Parade and fireworks! We are so excited!!!!!!

Eating at LTT in MK before the party starts! That way, no traffic, no waiting for monorail or buses!!!

Count me in for 9/14 also. Its our fist time, but I hear its great.

We took our girls to the Halloween party on October 31, 2006. We were so excited.....the girls couldn't wait. We spent 2 hours getting ready DD9 was dressed as Minnie Mouse. DD5 was dressed as Snow White. They were so gorgeous.
We left at 6pm from Saratoga Springs to catch the bus to arrive at MK for the 7pm start. We didn't get on a bus until 7:15pm. The buses just kept passing us because they were already full. The crowd of people gathering were getting extemely annoyed. Some called the Disney buslines complaining and they just kept saying that more buses were coming.
We finally got in to MK at about 7:45. I couldn't believe the crowds!
Then we found out that the candy "station" were scattered about the park. I thought we would be trick or treating up and down Main Street and throughout each area...Tomorrowland, Adventureland, etc. Instead, there was one location in each area that we had to find then stand in a huge lineup to get some candy. We missed most of the little shows they had because we spent so much time in lines or just trying to get around the park.
My DD9 said it was her worst Halloween ever. Then only thing she enjoyed was the fireworks display and the Haunted Mansion.
Then it was back to waiting for buses to bring us back to the hotel. Again, we waited over an hour for a bus. The line up for our hotel was massive. It was absolutely ridiculous and we were not impressed at all.
The only highlight of the evening was the picture of my two girls and Cinderella's pumpkin carriage which they brought out for the night. It was beautiful!
Well, hopefully you all have a much more enjoyable experience than we did. We certainly would not go again to the Halloween party. But the atmosphere during October is great!
Enjoy your trip!

LOTS of rides with VERY SHORT LINES!

not necessarily...we went on Oct 20 last year and the ride times were a lot longer during MNSSHP then they had been during the day. We had spent the day at MK and passed on some of the rides thinking we'd go that night when the lines were much shorter...the wait times that were 15-20 minutes during the day were up to 60 minutes during the party.
