Halloween Party: What TREATS Did You Get?

Here's some pics of the candy we got last Friday (9/11). We hit most of the spots once and the "treat trail" twice. I left with a mostly full bag and my sister's bag was full.

well you can always go through the candy lines a lot to get more candy right?

any more photo's from this years party.?

That looks like ALL the stuff i love, so im thrilled! And i didnt realize that little bag could hold so much!

I was shocked at how much that little bag held. We had brought big purses to dump our candy into, but didn't need to. When they handed me that little big, I thought this won't do me any good, but it was all I needed!

So, we went last Friday and had a blast! There were 4 of us, and we got almost 50 lbs of candy. I know it seems glutenous but my sister sees it as something to conquer, and I like using that candy to hand out at Halloween. This was from going through the lines multiple times, we walked the park probably 3 times and went through lines, watched the parade, and hit most of the rides. We were beat at the end of the night though.

About a 3rd of what we got was chocolate related or just non fruity. Some of the people prior have mentioned what was in it. Unfortunately I think they limit the chocolate due to the fact that it gets so melty. We couldn't eat any of the chocolate there because it was mushy. Some people are saying it's not as good this year, but that's what people say every year. I promise you if you go back to last year's Halloween posts they will be saying the same thing. The reality is, it's the exact same candy as last year, in the exact same proportion. I promise, I know my candy! I did notice a new candy, Sassy Taffy, it's kinda gooey but really good!

If you want chocolate, you have to see what's in the bins, if you like what you see in the bin, maybe hit that station up later. I really wanted a butterfinger, but I never did get one. Although, I could be like some of the other people I saw and not even wait in line, walk right up to the bin, start picking through to get what I want, or just start scooping into my bag. No lie, that happened several times. :rolleyes1

Glad to see the bags have handles. I thought from a previous post that they were just like the bags popcorn comes in at the movies.

I am probably in the minority but I love peanut butter bars and mary janes!!!:woohoo:

Can't wait for our party on October 8th!!!

Thanks for all the pictures! The loot looks great, and it's nice to see I'm not the only one who "sorts" my candy. ;)

October 2 can't come soon enough!

We went to the 4 September MNSSHP. At 11.30pm I could still see the bottom of my candy bag, they had been SO stingy - most places literally giving me 1 piece. My parents didn't fare much better. The candy queue in Tomorrowland across from Buzz Lightyear's Spin took pity on us and gave us a couple of handfuls each - leaving us with bags about a sixth full. Of that candy, I had 7 boxes of raisins. Really did not do well on the candy front this year!

candy looks good to me... i can't wait ... healthy is fine by me.

might have to hit the lines a few times but i am sure DD wont mind :)

I love all the "cheap" candy! I can pass the chocolate but give me the now and laters and bottle caps!! I went in 2006 and got tons of candy. My friend was there last friday and she said the candy was pretty slim. She said the rides were awesome with no lines so they mostly rode over and over!
I just want to ride so I dont care how much candy I get. My DD10 though is a chocoholic so I hope we do ok on the candy front

 How disappointing! Any chance the lack of chocolate could be because of hot weather?

No I spoke with a buddy of mine who is a cast member in charge of stuff at the Party and he said there is plenty of Chocolate in their office where they mix stuff......

I am going Trick or Treating for the first time in my life at MNSSHP in few weeks and I can't wait! All that candy looks amazing! This is going to be so much fun!:cool1:

We did not fare well at all in terms of lbs of candy. Between 3 of us, I don't even think we hit 1 lb! We rec'd. mostly sweet tarts, a few kisses, one bag of M&M's, and 3 bite size 3 musketeers. We hit most of the stations, but only did them once. One of the CM's actually kind of "scolded" my daughter. I almost lost it, but kept my Disney composure. DD was in front of me in line, and saw the line next to us was moving faster. Well, obviously the CM thought DD was going back and forth between lines and said" Only one line per person honey and one piece each". She then handed DD a roll of sweet tarts. Yup, one roll. Like a PP said..they acted like the cost of the candy was coming from their pocket..or maybe the CM with the most candy left at the end of the night would get a prize!. Anyway, it seems hit or miss with the candy. We did not get any "cards, tooth brushes, etc.. or anything special like that.

Hmm, that sounds very unlike any experience I've ever had there. That's very odd. We had one cast member that jokingly said I don't get paid tonight until I empty this bin and then proceeded to give my sister 3 big handfuls of candy. This was toward the end of the night. I think my sister said the tooth brushes were over by Carousel of Progress, but she didn't get one. But they have certain quotas to fill each night, so they don't want it left over for the next night. There were several stations we were at where a CM walked up with boxes and said, you have one hour to get these 3 boxes emptied. We were like oooh oooh pick me!

My tip: If you want a lot of candy, you have to work for it! You can't expect to hit each station once and get 5lbs of candy. We walked the park 3 times and hit each station and got almost 50lbs between 4 people. Some stations only gave 1 piece, some gave handfuls, and toward the end of the night they were a lot more liberal than the beginning of the night. Trick or Treating is about putting in the effort to get a prize. If you don't want to put in effort, go to Target and buy a bunch of bags!

Happy Trick or Treating to All!

It was cool because 2 years ago they did a program here for cash for candy and anyone who turned in halloween candy got $ and the candy was going to the troops overseas!! I wish that we would have known about it before it stopped.
We don't eat much of it..and DD doesn't really like sweets but does like saying TRICK OR TREAT :)
I can't wait for our trip !!

We went on 9/4 too. One thing I noticed this year was kids got a handful in there bags seemed like adults were limited very few CM gave a handful they would have a bunch in their hand and only let 1 or 2 drop.. WTH I paid for ticket too thank you... mostly penny candy was given out not much choch.
like mentioned before - disappointing there.. we did get a TON though we each had 1 1/2 bags full thanks to the CM's outside the gate when we were leaving. We also scored Star wars tooth tune tooth brushes.. great gift since my DS lost a molar waiting to see twidle dee/dum that night eating a box of dots he got at buzz...lol...fun night though.. I also notice the decorations weren't as much this year.. no blow ups on the roof....missed them alot.

I know I'm a nerd, but I'm really excited to see raisins in the candy mix. I love chocolate but can take or leave most other candy; at least the raisins are a good snack for my 3.5yo.

Can't wait for the Sept. 29th party! Of course, I've been procrastinating on buying my tickets. Hope it doesn't sell out before I get into gear.

Hmm, what happens to it all, then? :scratchin

Anyone see any CMs with a little chocolate in the corners of their mouths?? ;) :rolleyes1

The pics post by a PP show a lot of the same kinds of candy we got back in 2006. :)

Even then, we got a lot of boxes of raisins, but we used them for daytime snacks during the rest of our trip.
