Halloween party ticket

Do you think it was that busy because there was no party in he studio's ?

We are going for my 40th next year so want it to be memorable but in a good way not a bad way.:guilty:
We are dressing up as cowboys I've already had some stuff sent over from Texas
Help me plan
:confused3

The Soiree is always busy, this year is busier than last year due to the rare characters that were meeting.

Sadly the party was sold out before we could buy tickets. We did experience these crazy crowds for the days before Halloween

Thanks !

Just be prepared for the worst and that you will be involved in lots of pushing and shoving if you intend to meet characters. It's not a nice atmosphere to hear people shouting abuse at each other just to get near (in reality) a person in a costume.

After reading this we will not be meeting any characters now, the twins will only be 6.
I was hoping for a chilled out walk on ride kind night lol
Not to be :sad2:
Why would people do that ??
I still want to go as I want to dress up at disney once in my life !!
Will keep an eye in this thread for tips on how to have a good time.

They keep saying in Paris it's impossible to make proper lines and such, but that is a load of ... ! Anything is possible, when thought through and with a bit of organisation.

You cannot drop 20 characters in DLRP all at the same time in a 200 by 200 courtyard with (which in my eyes, looked like) a thousand people around them.

CM's did not say "from left to right", and I guess the character itself didn't bother with it eather, with most of them.

This should be a RULE!

Also, people get their picture, and keep standing in front of you, to take another 100 pictures, can't they see the crowds? It's like some people don't want others to have a nice picture with a character.

A girl almost stood in my neck while waiting, and I said something about it to the person behind me, he also said something about it, suddenly the girl is next to me, the character leaves, turns out, she was from my country, and has the nerve to ask me when they come back, after she kept pushing me and shoving me in my back.
(so she definatly heard what the 2 of us said!)
I gave her a look and walked away, really think I was going to answer?

We then went out of the crowds, to Start Tours, to have a look at Chewwy.
It was wonderfull. People stood well back, CM was loud and clear to the crowd how it works, and Chewwy reached out his hand to you to pick you, and took the "left to right" rule, so everyone had a turn.

Ugh, I'm so mad about this, I guess I expected too much out of it, friendlier and such, so maybe it's just my own fault of being too nice, I don't know.
I was so upset and overwhelmed after it, I had a minor panick attack and cried like a little girl while still being at the park *sigh*.

They can control the crowds when they want to. At this years St. David's Day Welsh Festival there was no problem with crowd control for the Meet and Greed with Mickey and Minnie in Frontierland.

There was a long line set up with ropes and everyone stood behind the ropes waited their turn. Maybe it was because the majority of the children there were Welsh, all dressed up in traditional costumes for the girls and the boys all in white shirts, red ties and red jumpers or in rugby shirts and were holding hands with their parents made a difference.

I'm not saying Welsh children are more behaved than those from any other county but they knew how to wait in a queue. And trust me I'm not just saying that because I'm Welsh because I was never that well behaved as a child.

We went to the Halloween party and we were also surprised at how crowded it was. I liked the dance party by Star Tours. Chip and Dale and then Goofy were being DJ's when we went past. The show on the boat was also great.

One thing we didn't understand though was the need for the wrist bands. We waited in line for 30 minutes to get them and we didn't have to show them once. This then caused a problem as when we got the bands they ripped the barcode part off our ticket and then we could not scan the ticket to get fast passes. We had to show the CM at the fastpass machine our party ticket and then they pressed a button on the machine to get our fastpass for BTMRR. We left the park at 7pm to go for dinner at Inventions before the party started (which was great, we saw 8 characters who were either villains or in their Halloween costumes) and when we returned the people then being let in were not being given the bands anyway.

This is why people were hiding in restaurants because they knew they could stay at the soiree for free until the party started. Such a shambles. Not once did they check my wristband either.

I also agree that Discoveryland seemed a lot less stressful and there seemed to be some kind of character organisation going on. I remember when I found out all the characters would be in Fantasyland, my initial thoughts was that it was going to be crazy busy and a nightmare. Turns out I was right.

Despite these issues I did have fun, It was fun to dress up and spend a crazy evening with my friends.

We got asked to show our wristbands a few times during the night.

Also, almost every restroom in the park was closed, due to people hiding in there, but the 3 of us *really* needed to go, haha, luckily found a restroom that was open at the time with 2 CM's checking people with wristbands aswell. (it was around 7.45 pm).
