Halloween party risk with bad weather?

It rained when we went 2 weeks ago but not allnight. Saw Headless Horseman at first parade, but had a shortened 1st parade. 2nd parade fine, rain had stopped. 1st stageshow started but shortened, cancelled. Last stageshow no problem, rain had stopped. Fireworks it was rainingish but still had them no problem. All rides available at some point, but Mine Train had had issues allday so that one was touchy. Still had a great time, plenty of treats, plenty of dry weather in beginning and at end. Just a couple of hours of rain. Still had fun, especially from like 10-12, much less crowded, in fact not much at all. However, Crowds were a little crazy earlier. More than all day at the park!!!!

Basically all MNSSHP are at risk of weather due to the time of year they are held and it being prime hurricane season. Each person needs to weigh the risk to see if it's something they wish to do knowing there is a high chance of weather affecting at least a portion of the party.

We've done it twice and for us it was well worth the risk.

Our first party we were not able to leave our resort room until almost 6PM due to a 3 hour thunderstorm that had almost everyone hunkering down somewhere dry. We still had a great time once we got to the party!

Our second party was not affected by weather at all.

I went to a MVMCP where it drizzled most of the night and Disney canceled literally everything. Many characters didn't even come out. And Guest Relations for whatever reason refused to do anything. There were 6 of us so I felt pretty swindled out of $1200 or whatever that runs. Would never do another party again.

Just an FYI, if you buy a party ticket and don't use it at all, you will be able to use the amount you paid for credit towards another party/special event in the future.

I did that with a Christmas party ticket I didn't use because I ended up getting sick. Call Disney to confirm, but I was told that is what they normally do if the ticket isn't used at all.
