Halloween Party parking question

I bought a ticket to the HALLOWEEN party and will be going for the first time on Oct 24. Woohoo! I have an annual pass so I'll also be going to the parks during that day.

The question is: Can I use my Halloween party free parking pass in the morning on that day? Or does the free parking only become valid at the time I would be allowed to actually use the ticket, which I believe is 3 hours before the party starts?

Thanks in advance!

The CM I spoke with in the phone said that you can use your free parking anytime on the day of your party.

So...if you don't have a Halloween party ticket you should leave the park at the start of the party so you don't take up room from those who have paid for a ticket. But it's ok to use your parking pass that comes with your ticket to take up parking spaces all day from those who paid for a park ticket and to park that morning/day?:rolleyes1

The issue with non-party guests leaving at the start of the party has nothing to do with taking up room from paid party guests. The issue is that MHP is a separate paid event. Any day park guest is welcome to attend as long as he/she purchases a party ticket (providing tickets are not sold out). There is room for as many party guests as there are available tickets. Why should a non-paying guest be allowed to crash the party when everyone had to pay for their ticket? Should day guests be allowed to park hop without paying while all other guests have to pay for tickets or passes? If somone wants to attend MHP, he/she can buy a ticket. Simple as that.
Several years ago, Disney only allowed party guests to park when their park entry hours began. So you could park starting at 3pm or 4pm on your party date. But so many guests had problems with that (and many of the problems were valid, not merely whining), so Disney now allows MHP tickets to cover all day parking. So far, I have not yet heard of any day guest being denied parking at a Disney lot because party guests took all the spots. If this does become a problem, then Disney will find a way to deal with it. If Disney does not think it is a problem, then it must not be a problem at this time.

Just as you say if a person wants to attend the party, pay for it don't expect it for free. If a person wants to park all day, not just for the party, pay for it, don't expect it for free. It's just that simple, and, if you can afford the party tickets, you can afford the parking. Maybe closing the park at 6 pm three days out of 6 that I can get there and use "full day tickets" deserves special consideration too, just as the party guest is given free parking with their separate ticket and now wants to use it all day. So why should someone get parking they haven't paid for, when I can't stay in the park because I haven't paid? See, there is no difference.:ssst:

Funny you say that, as I honestly don't see any similarity in your example. You are comparing hours in the park itself to hours allowed in the parking structure.

Just as you say if a person wants to attend the party, pay for it don't expect it for free. If a person wants to park all day, not just for the party, pay for it, don't expect it for free. It's just that simple, and, if you can afford the party tickets, you can afford the parking. There is no such thing as free parking at Disney. Parking is included in the price of the Halloween Party ticket. It's not free, just included in the price of the party ticket. Parking is not priced by the hour at Disney, it's by the day. Party parking = all day. Non-party parking = all day as well. So if you'd like to leave your car in the parking lot after 6:00, you can do it. You can leave it parked there for the entire party, even though you didn't pay for the party.

Parking to parking is apples to apples. Parking to hours in the park is apples to oranges.

Paying for certain hours in park with a party ticket means only those who pay for those hours should stay and utilize the park. If you stay and use hours you've not paid for it's not ok.

Paying to park for the day means only those who pay for those hours to attend the park having purchased a day ticket should utilize the parking. If you arrive early for the party and to attend the park all day and use parking you've not paid for it's not ok.

Party ticketholders have been given the parking for the party as part of the ticket, to use it for the party. Just as if you've paid for a day ticket, you've only paid to use the park during the day.

Staying in park past the hours you've paid for is no different than parking outside hours you've paid for, regardless of what call center cast members and Disney say you can get away with. And we're not talking about arriving and parking a couple hours before the party starts here. We're talking about arriving early in the day to enter the park with a day ticket and get away without paying.

Perhaps a better solution would be to pay for parking since you're using a day ticket that doesn't include parking during that time, and be satisfied with it. Trying to get away without paying the parking charge is no different than trying to stay in park without paying for a party ticket.

Sorry we see it differently, it just seems in both situations and threads, one about staying in park late, one about getting in parking structure early, both without paying for something you should be paying for are being treated very differently, as are the posters asking the questions.

I have to agree with others, you are comparing apples & oranges here.

I honestly don't see how somebody parking early affects anybody enjoying the parks. If it was leaving paying day ticket holders without a spot, then yes it's a problem. Otherwise, it doesn't take any enjoyment from those people. And as was said, the parking IS paid for as part of the Halloween party ticket. It's not free. And people aren't trying to "get away" with anything. Disney, as the company who get the money, has said people may use the parking at any point during the day. They have decided that the Halloween Party be a separate hard ticket event.

They are being treated differently because they are two very separate things. We don't use the parking structure, but as AP holders the parking is included in our pass. The Halloween party is not. They are viewed differently by Disney. I honestly don't see how you DON'T see the difference. And it feels like you are upset about the number of Halloween parties during your stay and that may be jading your view of the parking situation. I don't see how when a person parks affects you. People staying for the Halloween party who have not paid for it DOES affect those who have paid for it.

Paying to park for the day means only those who pay for those hours to attend the park having purchased a day ticket should utilize the parking.

Nope, not true. Parking it not linked to the hours you spend in the park. I can park in the structure all day and all night, and never even buy a ticket or set foot in one of the Disney parks. What if I just want to walk around Downtown Disney? Maybe catch a movie and have dinner there? Or take a tour of the hotels? Or go ice skating when the rink is up? Disney does not care where you spend your time while your car is parked in the parking lot.

So we are planing on buying 2 day tickets (Oct 23 & 24) didn't know about the Halloween Party, but did go online and purchase for the 24th. I see that the parking is included, we will be buying our tickets and going to California Adventure in the morning...then using our "Halloween" tickets for the party...I'm wondering if our parking included with the Halloween ticket will allow us to park when we arrive in the morning?

Yes, just show your Halloween party ticket at the parking garage when you get there in the morning. Enjoy your full day of included parking :-)

Going to the parks in the morning and using what was meant as a party ticket inclusion to avoid the parking charge for earlier in the day. It can't be more clear. You are correct about the fact that there are 3 separate hard ticket events causing the parks to close early during my stay. It's overkill because of the $$$ it makes Disney and wrong to charge full ticket price for a day then close early just to sell more tickets for the evening. If you closed at 6 or 7 on non-party days it would be a different story. This however, rarely happens.

However, the larger point is that this is not what is meant by the offer of free parking FOR THE PARTY. I remember those who parked at Downtown Disney in Orlando and took a Disney bus meant only for resort to DD use to avoid paying for park parking. Guess what, Disney got tired of it and made transportation changes that were horrible for everyone to keep this from happening.

When the use of free parking for the entire day instead of as intended as an inclusion just for the party becomes realized as a loss for Disney b/c so many people are doing it, the benefit will be lost for everyone.

That's my issue, one that most people are against, "stretching" the issue until it is lost/worse for everyone.

I am not faulting anyone for trying to stretch their dollars, I do it as well, i just try to be fair applying things in all situations. I won't trouble you further with this, even to say i told you so when the free parking inclusion with tickets disappears in the future, just for this reason.

For the poster who is not happy with parking early and using the party ticket...what about folks who come down early just for the day, for the party? When we attend the party we drive from Vegas on the morning of, typically arriving around noon. Normally we stay across the street on Harbor, but one year we were staying further away and parked at Disney around 1pm. We walked around DTD until party time. Should those guests have to pay for parking before they can enter the party? Then what- pro rate the time, ending the charge at party time? They get a refund for a portion of the day? The garage isnt just for park guests, but also for those enjoy DTD ect...some guests will arrive several hours before the party starts. They are still attending the party, they are not taking away park enjoyment from anyone else. Parking is factored into the ticket price, Disney isn't losing anything. I don't see how this an issue at all?

Disney is the issuer of the party tickets with included parking and gets to decide how, when and where the parking is "intended" to be used.

-Another poster mentioned that they asked the ticket agent CM who said the included parking was valid all day.
-The website says "Each ticket includes"....."Complimentary parking...."
-The tickets themselves say parking is included on the party "day" - no mention of specific times nor even vague wording like "valid for parking during the party event."
-I personally asked the parking gate CM last year when I pulled up. The CM said parking was included all day, checked my party ticket and let us through without any additional charge. I wasn't "stretching" my dollars. I didn't "get away" with anything. I wasn't going to pay for something the business itself said was already covered either.

So, the complimentary parking covers all day and doing so is not unfairly taking advantage of anything.

Thanks everyone. Didn't know this would be such a controversial topic. Glad to know that I'll be able park all day with my Halloween ticket! :)

RunVTa this is what is known as #FirstWorldProblems
The fact that people are arguing over this, I'm sorry but is pretty stupid. It's not their money and they don't own disney or the parking lot. Get over it and GO HAVE FUN!
Plus if I go for the day and want to hang out in Downtown Disney on a MHP night that I'm not attending, I will, and won't feel bad either. Just like someone who want to go to DTD before their Party only ticket starts, go for it!
Since when are their Parking Pilice. Just juvenile
