Need ideas please - about 10 girls - 2nd and third grade - need ideas for games, food and such. Thanks a bunch!

Pinterest is a great resource. I searched for "Halloween" there last year and found tons of ideas of things to make with everyday items.

Tons of ideas on pinterest for Halloween. For games, you could do a needle in a haystack, bobbing for apples, make a scarecrow. You could have the kids paint a pumpkin.

Gross Halloween food-

Use red and orange gel icing color added to corn syrup to make "blood" then dip glasses in it and allow to dry.

Hair Ball Salad with Saliva dressing: Shredded carrots and bean sprouts mixed with mashed avocado and dressed with italian dressing.

Kitty Litter Cake: Looks like the gross real thing but tastes great.
Google it for many different recipes.

Be sure to make some punch- use a clean latex (or non latex) glove and fill it with liquid (lime green kool aid or mountain dew) and tie it shut like a balloon. Freeze it adjusted over a bowl and you will have a spooky frozen hand for your punch bowl.

Another vote for Pinterest.

Make a photo booth station by using dollar store table cloths as your background.

Make a Pin the Wart on the witch on a piece of poster board and have them use a piece of chewed up gum or silly putty if All that saliva grosses you out

Make a scavenger hunt around your yard with clues to different hidden treat bowls

Whatever you do, keep it flowing. Don't let them spend too much time on one activity or they will get bored and start running around your house. Make sure you have more than enough activities to fill your party time. No more than an hour and a half---two hours max.

Maybe have each kid contribute a bag of candy to a piñata or bring a donation gift to your favorite charity

Bon Fire with hot dogs and marshmallows to roast. If you are in a rural location, a hay ride is great fun too. That age loves crafts as well. Cooking activities are a big hit too. Rice Krispy pumpkins, pumpkin muffins or 20000 other things you find on pinerst!

A game is to buy two smallish pumpkins and get your old brooms. Have the kids do a relay race where they need to sweep the pumpkin with the broom.

Bobbing for apples is, of course, traditional.

Last year I did a large scooped out pumpkin filled with little halloween party favours and sweets mixed in through cold cooked spaghetti for my aunts halloween party. We blindfolded the person who was feeling through it for a treat and made others wait back so they could not see what was inside, the kids and adults loved it!! I think we called it Pumpkin Brain Dip or something equally delightful! :p

Just wanted to add, I also made glow jars. Just get some old glass jars, paint or draw a pumpkin style face, a bat silhouette, a witch silhouette etc on the outside of the jar then activate some glow sticks, snip off the end then shake the glowing contents inside your jars. Pour a little glitter in too if you wish then screw the jar lid on. Easily made and really effective decorations! :)

Peeled grapes for eyeballs. Could be used in the scooped-out pumpkin along with the spaghetti.
That's the only thing I remember from my Halloween birthday party! :rotfl2:

We've done several kids' Halloween parties. The two favorite games we remember are:

Donut Delight - Get a bunch of donuts equal to the # of kids at the party - cheap 12 for $1 ones are fine, although cider or fall seasonal ones can be fun. Tie an appx. 2-foot piece of string/yarn on each donut before the party. Then tie each donut to a clothesline or a line tightly stretched between two trees or items in your yard. Vary the heights/lengths. Each kid puts their hands behind their back, stands under a hanging donut and on the count of "3" or whatever, tries to be the first to eat his/her whole donut bite by bite without it falling and without touching it with anything other than their mouths. If it falls to the ground, the kid under that donut is out. Fun - with lots of giggles!

Wrap Your Mummy - Pair the kids off and give each pair one roll of toilet paper. Scott's is great, since it is not expensive and each roll is SO long! Each pair decides who is their wrapper and who is their mummy. When you yell "go" or whatever, all the wrappers race to wind their roll of toilet paper around the legs, arms, bodies, of the mummies. First team to use up their entire roll wins. Hilarious!

Good luck and have fun with your party!
