My neighborhood throws a Halloween Party every year for the kids in our neighborhood (LOTS OF KIDS...we have about 800 homes). Party is on a Sunday afternoon from 3 - 5 and we are looking for some new game ideas. We always rent a couple of bouncies to have outside at the clubhouse and inside are several tables/trick or treat stations for kids to do things to get treats. Right now, our stations are these, but we are looking for some NEW ideas.

1. Decorate your trick or treat bag station. Easy enough

2. Ring toss - with witches hats and glow necklaces

3. Eyeball toss - decorate a ping pong ball with a eyeball and try to toss into cups (each cup is a different prize)....sorta like beer pong for kids :lmao:

That's all we have right now. We need some FRESH ideas and we have $$ to spend on things, so whatcha got for me? We gear the games more toward the 10 and under set because the older kids would rather bounce and play on the playground (and grab some candy and go ;)).

TIA!

"Go Fish" give the kids a cane pole with a string and clothespin tied on the end. Have them drop the line over a screen or bed sheet suspended between two structures (we decorated ours with cutouts of fish, etc.). The adult on the other side attaches a little toy to the clothespin and gives the line a tug. My parents did this for our birthday parties when we were kids, and we did it for ours. They loved it!

Decorate sugar cookies with icing and Halloween sprinkles.

Get a big shallow container or wading pool and fill with play sand. Hide little toys in the sand so the kids can to a treasure hunt.

Musical chairs to "Monster Mash" or a cake walk.

"Mystery jars" Line jars or other containers with tissue paper and fill with toys, stickers, candy, etc. Line jars up on shelves with numbers for each spot. Child draws a number and gets the jar at that particular number. Our school did this, and they went through hundreds of jars. Each family was asked to donate 2 or 3 jars for the carnival, and it was fun to see how creative people got.

Suspend a pole horizontally; tie strings and hang donuts for the kids to eat without using their hands.

Face painting.

Hay ride on a flat trailer pulled behind a tractor or heavy duty lawn tractor.

Your neighborhood sounds like fun!

Thanks. I am going to pass these along to the head of the committee. I know they do a hayride every year!

Our neighborhood is great. They do a lot for the kids and the adults get a Carribbean themed party every summer :goodvibes

I would check the Minute to Win It game show website for ideas. I am amazed by some of the games they play, some more challenging then others.

WE do face painting at my DS8 school fair, so easy. We use small sponges in shape of what we want , dab in paint put on kids face and then fill in where needed, takes just a minute and we can run through alot of kids quickly.

OOH, that's a cool idea and so easy! Thanks

Our neighborhood dentist puts on a Halloween carnival every year and in addition to face painting they do temporary tattoos too - also very quick.

He also has a popcorn machine and cotton candy and then gives out toothbrushes! :rotfl: Guess that's one way to get business!

He also hires a photographer that takes posed pictures and gives out a card with a number on it. You can go to the office later in the week and pick up a 4x6 print. You could do this easily with a Polaroid or digital camera and printer.

When DS18 was in kindergarten the school had a fall festival and we had a "Root Beer Garden". You can get kegs of root beer from the grocery store. We had German music playing too but you could do Halloween stuff.

Cake walks are always a huge hit. Ask families to donate baked goods, etc.

Kids LOVE to play bingo too.

For the eye ball toss you could use carved out pumpkins instead of jars. We have done the bean bag toss with pumpkins.

Kids always love the sand box filled with prizes. They dig for the prizes.

We had a maze made with donated card board boxes one time. Lots of fun.

We have had a cake walk type game with books as prizes.

Just like musical chairs but easier:

Sit the kids down in one BIG circle. Get some sort of Halloween item (I use a stuffed pumpkin) that they will pass along. When the music stops whomever has the pumpkin is out.

We're having a costume party at my DD's school to raise money for their 8th grade class trip so I'm excited to see the responses here too!

We will be face painting (full face designs) along with the pass the pumpkin idea I mentioned above.

I LOVE the eyeballs in the cup game. Think I may steal that one;)
