So, we'll be going to the halloween party this year. Dd, age 3.5, and I are character hunters. Who can we expect to see? Where will they be?? Anyone in particular we should be on the look out for or prepared for? Any touring/itinerary suggestions?

Hoping to use our time wisely so any and all suggestions welcome.

Are you talking about the actual Halloween party (Mickey's Halloween Party, which requires a separate ticket) or the Halloween Time season in general?

These threads will tell you everything you need to know about Halloween Time, including the party :

This is the check-in thread for Mickey's Halloween Party: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=42370181#post42370181

And here is the Halloween at DLR Superthread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2560082

On Page 1, Posts #1 and #2 of the Superthread, you will get all kinds of information about Halloween Time, complete with photos, links to photos, links to trip reports, blogs, information about seasonal treats and highlights, etc. There are lots of character photos in the Superthread (the Table of Contents will guide you).

I believe Jack Sparrow is still only out for the party (though he was out earlier this year to promote his new movie :rotfl: ). But at the 2010 parties, at least, he switched off with a big group of Peter Pan characters. So just because Jack Sparrow is there when you get into the (30 minute?) line doesn't mean that's who you'll meet. We ended up waiting because my friend was dressed as a pirate and would've settled for either group, and we DID meet Jack Sparrow. (Though I was really awkward with him and due to fatigue and my costume make-up, my photos were ghastly...and not in a good Halloween way! LOL)

I've read some reports of people going through PFF with little or no wait nearer to the end of the party night. Those are pretty much all "common" characters, of course, so if you're trying to meet characters you haven't seen before, that's not so helpful. But if you're looking to spend some time with face characters with a short wait, it could be worth a try.

Have a great trip!

When we went a couple of years ago, there were character meet and greets everywhere. We saw:

* Belle
* Sleeping Beauty
* Ariel
* Fairy Godmother
* Cinderella
* The Evil Step Sisters
* Mickey
* Minnie
* Goofy
* Woody
* Jessie
* GI Joe
* Cruella de Vil

Cruella, the Fairy Godmother, and the Evil Step Sisters were just walking around the park. The rest did meet and greets throughout the park.

:)

We went to the party 2 years ago. The parties had already been going on for a few weeks before our trip, so I made sure to follow the Halloween thread on here to see where the different character meet and greets were located. We really wanted to see Mickey and Minnie and I had read that some people had waited an hour in line to see them. Since we wanted to make the best use of our time, we quickly made our way over to where they would be, as soon as the party started. We were 2nd in line, so that worked out great. :) As soon as we left, the huge line really started to build. So, if you want to meet them that night, I would go there as soon as the party starts and get in line right away. :)

Thanks for responses! We're planning on going to the 10/3 party so I guess we'll have some info from the earlier parties to work with... this is the kind of info I'm hoping for though... what do we line up for first, what can wait, etc. I don't think we're going to go on any rides... just characters, candy, and the cavalcade!
