We'll be visiting DL & DCA on Tues/Weds 13th/14th of September, then moving onto LA but we're going to head back on Sat 17th for the Happiest Haunts Tour.

We're hoping that when we visit in the week, the park will be completely normal - so we can see it that way & take pics etc, then Halloween ones on the Sat. Is this likely? Im unsure how long the halloween overlay takes for the Friday?

I appreciate that the Haunted Mansion/Space Mountain will be closed, Im just thinking of the park as a whole really.

Thanks :goodvibes

You should join us in the Halloween Superthread! Feel free to jump in with any questions.

If you're in Disneyland on 9/13 and 9/14, most likely you will see some obvious signs of Halloween. How much you'll see, I'm not sure. The 14th is only 2 days before the season officially begins, so it's possible there may be some character pumpkins out. I think that the character pumpkins above the entrance turnstiles were up a couple of days in advance last year, and the giant Mickey pumpkin on Main Street may have been up a couple of days early as well. On the 13th, I'm not so sure what will be up. But on 9/14, I think there will be more stuff that's visible.

Keep in mind, the Halloween Time season does not display decorations in every corner of the park. There are many areas of DL left untouched, and California Adventure is pretty much left out of the whole Halloween season altogether. The level of decor is not nearly as extensive and thorough as the holiday season's decor is. So there are plenty of areas of DL that will be left un-Halloween-ified!:rotfl2: You'll be able to get lots of photos of certain things that have no traces of Halloween at all, even in the middle of Halloween season!

There definitely will be some signs of Halloween on the 13th and 14th. That is the time frame we visited during last year and there were signs of Halloween starting on the very first day of our visit last year--and there were more and more signs of Halloween as the week progressed...right up until the last day of our visit (which was the first "official" day of Halloweentime at the Disneyland Resort.) We were hoping we would have one day of a "clean" Disneyland with nothing Halloween up, but that didn't happen.

On your first couple of days, Space Mountain will be closed to install the Ghost Galaxy overlay, and Haunted Mansion will be closed for the (awful) holiday overlay. They'll both be working with their holiday overlays when you return on the 17th.

Pirates of the Caribbean and Blue Bayou restaurant are both closed until Thanksgiving for refurbishment.

HTH,
Bob

There are already signs of Halloween at the Parks. Mainly the stores and window displays.

Yes. We were surprised to see Halloween decorations and treats in the stores last week.
