Our 3yr old has been wanting to be batman since April. So, it's to the bargain bin we go! But I love cool handmade things and am quite torn as to what to make (we have very little time left!) Last year we were Monster Unv. people (which I may haul out again). I love being something creative and different, but I rarely have enough time or energy. I'm thinking of Gravity Falls (husband as Suess and me as Wendy), Phineas and Ferb with my husband being Bufurd and me as Candace, or Bernard and Bianca from The Rescuers. Any opinions from the disboards gallery?

Will it be OK if we DON'T dress up? I'm thinking of having Halloween Mouse Ears shirts embroidered for the kids. Here are my thoughts in a nutshell - A) hubby WILL NOT dress up, B) 3 kids in costumes in humid Florida = kids begging to take it off and mom carrying everything, C)Isn't it hard to ride the rides comfortably in a bulky costume?, D) Five costumes in one suitcase = valuable luggage space when flying. Is it worth it? I love Halloween and don't mean to sound like a downer. Correct me if I am wrong. I'm just a busy mom trying to simplify the upcoming trip!

Costumes are optional. You can go all out with your costume, do simple Disneybound outfits (do not have to be about Disney), or not dress up at all. Just do whatever feel right to you

Wish I knew how to post a picture! Last year we were a big group of pirates and I got lots of compliments on my costume! This year we are being super heroes, although I'm sad we aren't Marvel. We will be Batman, Robin, Superman, and Wonder Woman!

You have to walk around and ask the CMs if they've seen your invisible jet. Tell them you parked it in the Hub and now you can't find it. The CMs and their interactions with guests are always one of the highlights of the party for me.

DD12, DD14, and I will be going as characters from Inside Out (can't wait to count how many other families will be going as that :rotfl:). DD12 will be dressing up as Joy, DD14 will be Disgust, while I will be dressing as Riley.

I hope my DH & I go on the same night because we will be Anger & Sadness!

DH and I are both going as pirates.

Each of us grew up in households where money was pretty tight (multiple kids, moms stayed home to raise the family so only one pay check coming in) so neither of us ever had a really nice costume for Halloween.....whatever we wore trick-or-treating was something we created from whatever we had laying around the house. So when we booked our MNSSHP tix, DH was adamant that we would have cool costumes for Disney....so we purchased a matching set from a local costume store. They're not super fancy nor were they ridiculously expensive, but they're new and lovely and I am not ashamed to admit that I'm super excited about Halloween for the first in many, many years!!

As PPs have mentioned, do what works for your family. Full costumes, "costume-lite" or no costume, its really up to you and your preference. If you do decide you want a costume, there are great ideas online for simple, make your own halloween costumes. I saw one for an easy M&M candy costume where a family had simply chosen bright candy coloured t-shirts for each person and then had stenciled on the iconic M on the front of each. Thought that was a great, simple idea and low volume for packing.

I'm doing an easy costume as well. I'm planning on being an "identity thief." I have a black t-shirt, simple black dollar store eye mask and stretchy dollar store black gloves. I bought a pack of "Hello, my name is" stickers and have written different names on about a doz of them. I'll stick them across my shirt. If there is any issue at the gate with my little mask, I can remove it no problem. But I wanted something light, easy to pack, not hot to wear and fun that I don't have to battle with at the party. Because it is a dark shirt, I'll have glow stick bracelets with me so I can still be seen in the bus loading area. Have a great time at the party and don't stress about the costume at all!

In 2013 we went as Colonel Jack O'Neil and Major Samantha Carter from Stargate SG-1, and the kids went as Mario and Luigi.

This year we are all going as various characters from Doctor Who. I don't have pictures of our costumes yet, but I am going as Rose Tyler, DH as the 9th Doctor, DS9 as the 10th Doctor and DS7 as the 11th Doctor.

Those Carousel of Progress costumes are amazing - Love that!!

We've done
-Rapunzel/Mother Gothel/Flynn Rider
-Mabel, Dipper, Waddles, and Soos from Gravity Falls,
and this year we are going as characters from the Disney Channel Descendants movie - Evil Queen, Evie (EQ's daughter), and Carlos (son of Cruella)

We are going as characters from Up.....Hubby-Mr.Fredricksen, Me-Kevin, and DD-Russel. Almost done with the costumes, we leave in 35 days!!!!

I will be ursula, DH will be prince eric and dd(2) will be land Ariel. I'm sewing all of our outfits and just bought the fabric but haven't started yet.
