We just got home on Friday from Halloween at Disneyland and we are already planning doing a late 2013 trip again.

It's just me, DH, and our cute Corgi. Since a lot of you here have done both Halloween & Christmas, which would you do if you had to pick one? Why?

We are debating, do we want to do Halloween again and the party, allowing us access to all the rides without long lines or do we want to try Christmas time and see the pretty decorations.

Any thoughts or opinions would be great!
Thanks!

NO BRAINER! If you've already seen Halloween, DO CHRISTMAS! There are at least 10 times the decorations, plus all the special holiday treats, music, smells... DO CHRISTMAS!

I first experienced Halloween at DLR in 2009 and I thought it was great! This year I really noticed that it wasn't decorated as much - although I still had a great time. Christmas is my favorite :santa:. Pick a time when the Xmas parade is running & try to avoid the dates between Xmas and NYE too.

Christmas by a landslide. I did Christmas in 2010 and Halloween last year. Though I had fun last year, I found myself really wishing I had waited a few weeks and come for Christmas again instead.

The decorations are more abundant. The special parade and fireworks are wonderful. The seasonal foods, music, and smells added onto that make for an amazingly magical experience. And the best part is that you don't have to pay extra for any of the Christmas experience, like at Halloween with the MHP. Well, unless you want to take the Holiday Tour, which I do highly recommend.

If I knew i'd only be able to visit DLR one more time in my whole life, I would pick late November or early December without hesitation. There's just something so very special about Christmas at DLR, that it really can't be described in words. You just have to go, and feel it. (you usually feel it right around the end of the Believe...In Holiday Magic fireworks show when it starts to snow on Main Street. ;) )

I'm sure I'm the minority when I say I love Halloween more at Disneyland, than Christmas. Halloween at Disneyland is just so much fun. I kind of feel like I'm in the movie Hocus Pocus when I'm at the parks in October. I also love the decorations, too, and the seasonal overlays. Now, I love the decorations and the seasonal overlays for Christmas as well. As a whole, I love Halloween more at Disneyland than Christmas, for personal reasons. I grew up watching A Charlie Brown Christmas each year for the Christmas season. I always valued, and still value the true meaning of Christmas aspect of the movie. As a Christian, I also appreciate A Charlie Brown Christmas being truthful when it comes to Christmas.

When I'm at Disneyland during Christmas, no doubt I love looking at the beautiful decorations. At the same time, it feels very commercialized to me. Christmas at Disneyland doesn't feel like Christmas at my house, to me. Last year, I went to Universal Studios Hollywood for Christmas, and I felt so warm and fuzzy inside. There was actual snow in the park, and kids were having real snowball fights. In Southern California. My mom and I were greeted and served with warm hot chocolate, and we got to keep the mug! I remember going down the escalators and hearing commentary from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a classic movie I watched as a child, and still watch. There was a guest celebrity in the park, reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss to the guests. Something so simple, yet so amazing. It felt like home. The best part for me and my mom was walking out of City Walk and hearing that familiar sound coming from the large television screen. We looked at each other and turned around; it was the intro of A Charlie Brown Christmas. We turned and watched Charlie Brown and the gang ice skate and slug snowballs at cans, while the song "Christmas Time is Here" played in the background. That was the cherry on top and the best part of that entire day. Again, something so very simple, yet the feeling we got was on a serious level of awesomeness.

I didn't mean to rant, I'm so sorry about that! If I were you, since you've already seen Disneyland for Halloween, go during Christmas time for a different experience! I don't think you'll regret it!
