I was thinking of taking one of my kids for his birthday and his birthday is Nov 3rd and I thought it would be fun to do Halloween but it doesn't look like there are any rooms for this year and then we thought we would go as a family in early December to get the Christmas feeling and start off the holidays that way but now I'm wondering how I should plan for next year with our points and then there is Cars Land opening in 2012. Oh if only we had more points but the 260 I have will have to due for now.

What do you think???

Christmas time is wonderful . You would have fun at either time, but if you have never done Christmas- do it! I don't know anything about the DVC points though so I am no help there.

*I just noticed your city- My husband and I saw a House Hunters episode a long time ago in Gig Harbor, WA and it looked so pretty we put it on a list to check out when we want to retire. Haha- so is it a nice town?

It's a beautiful town and we plan to retire here. We bought our house 3 years ago with a view of Mt Rainier and moved an hour away for my DH's job, we used to live 1 mile but it just seemed like a good time to move and we love this area!

Sounds like you have to do Christmas, since there are not any rooms available during the alternative dates. I would prefer to go in Dec. anyway. The decorations look amazing and the atmosphere seems magical. I've heard the crowds are heavy during halloween anyway.

Gosh, that's a hard decision!
I think Christmas is my favorite, but Halloween time has become a close second.
My third favorite time is early spring. The weather is perfect and all the flowers are blooming. Anyway, I would go during early Dec this year and Halloween in 2011. Both time periods have a lot to see, do and experience. The only drawback is Oct can be hot and Dec it can rain.

And I know what you mean about the points, we always run out, too!
;)

What if I took my 6 year old to DisneyWorld for Halloween and that way I could experience the World for myself and know how to plan when we take all the kids??

I would love to go to DL for Christmas then in 2011 but not sure I will have enough points to go somewhere in 2012 to see Cars Land, we might have to wait a year, unless we drive down and don't stay as long or I use my other timeshare points. And then there is Hawaii, we will want to do that as the kids get older but not knowing if you will be able to book out 7 months is the question!
