Does anyone know what Disney does for Halloween on the Magic? My girls are 16, 14 and 9 and the Disers are cutting the age limit off at 13, so I am wondering what Disney might be doing.

Halloween is also Sunday night, which I thought might be formal night, does anyone know how they handle this?

Thanks
Cindy

Hi goofysgirl:

We are also on the Halloween cruise. I spoke with Debbie at DCL last week and she said that formal night is still undecided but her opinion at the moment would be that the night would change. But again she was only giving her opinion until she knew for sure. I'm putting off making my Palo res. until they have a better idea sometime in the beginning of October. I would guess that they would change formal night to Monday because so many will be dressed for Halloween to go to the parties they have during the day and night.

She said that they are planning family costume contests as well as parties throughout the day. I doubt they will leave the older ones out especially when they are having a party for the adults.

I hope we know their decision about formal night before we board.

Halloween was on semi-formal night in 2002. They did not change semi-formal night for it. Some people showed up to dinner in costume, some dressed in semi-formal attire.

DCL has trick or treating for the kids (I don't recall an age limit--big kids could go too) and then they had 2 different costume type things--a costume parade of the kids, and a contest for the adults in several different categories. It was a lot of fun.

Hi Cindy,
My Hubby and I are also on the Magic for Halloween. We are planning on dressing in costume for dinner. I hope we won't be the only ones. I am Sure Disney will have lots of fun Halloween activites for all ages. Hubby and I are counting on it since we don't have any children.

This year will be our 4th halloween aboard the Magic. They have never changed their normal theme, formal or semi formal, for Halloween.
DCL does have their own t-or-t any age, costume contest for little ones and also in the evening for older ones and their families.

Cindy, I am sorry that we had to put an age limit on our DIS t-or-t this year, but last year it got a little out of hand with the older ones. Your 9 year old would be more than welcome to join us. And it's optional weather or not you want to have the children visit your stateroom.

Thanks everyone, I guess I will just wait and see what happens formal nice or fomal vampire, I'm sure we will still have lots of fun.

Ginger: no worries, I'm sure the kids will have plenty to do, I have never sailed on Halloween, last year we were at the MK so I wasn't sure what to expect.

Now off to find some ideas for costumes.

If you haven't already, come and join us on the Cruise Meets board. There's a very active thread for our cruise there and we'd love to see some new names! We have organized trick or treating just for the dis members but there's an maximum age limit of 13 and you have to let Ginger know by Oct 1 if you want to participate. The name of the thread is Offical Check-In List 10/30/04 "Magic".
