Hi! Have you experienced a Halloween on the High Seas Cruise? We are thinking of sailing the 5 night to Bermuda from NY but really aren’t interested in the Halloween stuff. I’m just wondering if it encompasses the entire cruise or if there are still activities and things that don’t have to do with Halloween?

Following as I'm curious too. There are a few trip reports here suggesting that aside from a genuinely epic-looking tree and one night of dressup, it seems to be pretty tame?

My cruise is actually set to be DURING Halloween itself this November, is there anything extra-special because of that? Are the wiccans allowed to practice stuff on that night? :P

We've done the Halloween on the High Seas cruise (Fantasy) 4 times now. We do NOT dress up or participate in any of the activities. The Halloween stuff is sort of "extra" and you will see costumes, etc all over the ship. BUT the other activities (Bingo, wine tasting, etc etc) all take place as usual. To us it is sort of fun to be on-lookers w/o having to actually dress up or otherwise get involved.

It's an add on really. There are some decorations in the lobby and along some of the halls. Only one night to dress up in costume for Halloween in which they do some additional halloewen type things . I found it to be similar to a regular cruise really.

I agree with others experiences. Halloween (which happens to be my birthday) does not totally take over the activities. All of the nightly entertainment are the normal shows. Not everyone dresses, but there were a lot of people who went above and beyond with their costumes both for the night designated as Halloween and Pirate night. My favorite costume was Sorcerer Mickey, who was moving his hands while walking behind a woman dressed as the brooms (tan grass hula shirt, carrying two buckets of water).

It's only one day of the cruise and completely avoidable if you're not interested in taking part of the activities. We went on HOTHS this fall out of NYC and there were two atrium parties with the Halloween show and trick or treating - one at 2pm and one at 4pm. The atrium was very crowded during these times but it was fun to look at everyone's costumes.... also on Halloween day there were a lot of fun photo set ups before dinner in the atrium. We are on the 5 night to Bermuda this year and I really hope that they do not put Tangled the same night as Halloween because it was just way too much in one day and Tangled is my favorite and the kids had to leave the show early because we were all spent from the Halloween stuff.

We’re planning the 5 night to Bermuda too!

In my opinion, Halloween is totally avoidable besides looking at the pumpkin tree in the atrium and a few porthole window decorations. As a Halloween fan I was underwhelmed by the whole Halloween vibe.
