Hi Everyone! I will be going 'Home' to Walt Disney World with my husband and 2 kids on October 30th this year. We will be there through November 8th. My son is 7 and my Daughter is 1. Does anyone know if there will be trick or treating anywhere on property on Halloween night besides the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom? At any of the resorts or parks? We want to go to MNSSHP but it is SO EXPENSIVE! It will cost us approximately $330 for 2 adults and 1 child (my daughter is free) just for the tickets to the party. Any tips or advise would be appreciated. Thanks disFriends!

Most of the hotels do a small trick or treat but it's very low key. You might want to ask at the camp ground. Not sure if the campers do individual trick or treat but I bet they would. Someone may have some experience with that.
I think I read Halloween night is sold out anyway. :-(

There used to be trick or treating at Downtown Disney (about 5+ years ago) but sadly that came to an end.

And yes, Halloween night MNSSHP is sold out - that could be a blessing in disguise. You won't even have to contemplate dropping the money for it.

The only thing I can suggest is taking kidlets to Goofys Candy Co. and letting them choose a few things. Definitely not the same as trick or treating but maybe a consolation prize?

Fort Wilderness would be my stop on Halloween. There is trick or treating in the camping loops and most of the campsites are decorated. They have events that go on all day like pet parades, golf cart parades, best campsite decorations, etc.

If you do decide to do the fort however you will have to park at either the ttc or Disney springs and take a bus or boat to the fort because they only allow parking for resort guests or guests with ADRs that day

My kids have food allergies so we've always skipped trick or treating. Give them a bag of candy they like and let them wear their costumes around that day. It will be enough fun. :goodvibes

On our last trip my teenage sister wore her cape and witch hat to DHS for the day and got her face painted. We weren't really looking for trick or treating type activities, but it was fun to be in the parks all made up, and nobody gave her trouble about the costume at all. But then again, for little kids at Disney you can dress up every day! It's just the grownups who have to be more creative in their costumes! :)
Also, I thought I read somewhere that The Contemporary had some sort of halloween event-- one for DVC and one for us regular folk. I'm not positive what the events were, but I looked into it briefly as I'll be there on Halloween again this year. It sounded geared toward small children.

You are all so wonderful! Thank you so much! The campgrounds are a great idea. I did see that the 31st MNSSHP sold out. They will be wearing their costumes all day and I plan to ask at check-in if there is anything else going on. I appreciate everyone who replied!

Go over the the Camping forum. They have been discussing this. I went to read because I will now be there that time (cancelled our trip this weekend). Lots of good info. Sounds like last year was chaos and many regulars looking to Disney to restrict the entry into campground..... it's no longer on their activity list. I have no idea what is happening there this year so might want to read up before you make the trek in.
