Halloween Merch… GONE!?!?!

Can I just say how disappointed I am that after a little more than one week so much of the Halloween merchandise is already sold out. We were in the parks last weekend and the three things that I wanted to purchase are all sold out already. And of course these are three things that were never even available online…. But you know I can go on eBay and spend $150 for that Mickey mommy popcorn bucket I really wanted…

I feel your pain! I went to the parks on Labor Day to buy stuff and they were out of a couple things I wanted. I did get one item off of ShopDisney, but the other one was already sold out. They do get more stock in throughout the season, but that doesn't help much if you have to travel to get there.

I took my daughter to Oogie Boogie Night in 2019 and the exclusive merch was already sold out the first or second night with lots of it ending up on eBay. I was annoyed because I felt that it should have been staggered so there would be merch available each night. A cast member rather "helpfully" told me to write a letter of complaint which I did. I'm still waiting on that reply.

This has been a problem for a long time thanks to ebay, influencers, etc. Disney could do more to curtail it and it seemed like they were trying to crack down before Covid, but it sounds like they are now pretty lukewarm about it again. It's infuriating to go to the park and want a special pin or bucket or shirt and find that they sold out almost immediately and appeared like Disney magic on a reseller site. It also makes me mad that I have to try and jump in a purchase line first thing if I want something like that. I wanted a 60th anniversary Doonie purse and I got in line super early (well before opening) to be sure I could get one in the DTD store. I did get one, and it later turned out to be something I could have gotten any time during my trip, ha ha. It's still sitting in the bag with tags on because I could never bring myself to use a purse that cost that much :upsidedow

isn’t that the way it always goes?!?!

Oh gosh...I'm so sorry to hear that for you...I was in Dland today and thought they still had quite a bit of Halloween merchandise, but still out of the mummy popcorn holder. It is a bummer that the "Disney Influencers" create a frenzy that in the past wasn't something to worry about. I wonder if the people who get sucked into that actually enjoy their item or if it ends up in the garage. :P

Right?! I know I've been drawn to the whirlpool and caught up in the madness of must-have. Turns out that most of those things I really mustn't. You know, the thing in a box in the closet or sitting up on a high shelf in the back of a cupboard (looking at you, Christmas Disney Stabucks mug from first year).
