We will be in the Magic Kingdom on Halloween. A friend of mine mentioned the Not So Scary Party.
What is that all about?
My gals are 3 and 6, will they enjoy it?
When do tickets go on sale?
Thanks for all info.

Welcome to the DIS, KimKamMom. I'm glad you found us and I hope that you can visit often.

Since I've never experience the Halloween party, I'll just bump this back to page one for you so that some of our veterans can offer advice.

It's great! The decorate the whole park. The kids dress up (and some adults) and trick or treat through the park. Many rides are open and there is a special parade. They do pumpkin carving and serve sugar cookies and cidar. There is also a free family photo taken too. I haven't done this for many years but from what I hear (thanks Beattyfamily) the tickets go on sale in April. Have fun! I have a 5 year old DD and my son will be 1 1/2. Maybe we will see you there.

We're going for the first time this year, too. You can find lots of in-depth info about the party at the wdwinfo.com homepage theme parks section, at allearsnet.com, tourguidemike.com... Looks like tickets may go on sale about late April? There are also a few ongoing threads on this board about MNSSHP--

Sounds like a great time! :)

We've gone 3 times in the last 3 years and my DDs are now 5 and 7. They won't know what to do next year when we don't go trick-or-treating at MK! It's a lot of fun with the park decorated and all the characters are in costumes (over their costumes - Eeyore is a mummy, Piglet a flower, etc.) and the parade is a lot of fun. We have felt that it was the most crowded at MK during the parties, but we tend to get to the parks very early during our vacation, so we may be wrong in thinking that it's really busy. The only problem we had was the first year, when the youngest was 2, she was frightened of the howling wolves that you hear (the music from the HM is piped all through the park)! If you go in October, this is a really fun evening.
:D

You will have a blast and don't forget about the parade and trick or treating in the park. I just love the way the park looks when they decorate it like that. They even make the castle some eerie colors. It's worth the extra money IMO.

We were there for the first time last year and went twice. We plan on doing it again this year if they have a party when we're there.
