This is the first time that Hubby and i will be visiting Disneyland at Halloween time. Unfortunatly we will not be able to attend Mickeys not so scary halloween party, so im a wondering will we still see the halloween fireworks and parades? Can anyone give me a typical october schedule? Thank you!!

The Halloween fireworks are only for those people that purchase tickets for the party. On party days, DL will open to party ticket holders at 4:00 and then at 7:00, anyone who does not have a ticket for the party will have to leave. So from 4:00 to 7:00 there will be the people who have normal parkhoppers and people with tickets for the MHP. They won't start the party events until everyone has left who doesn't have a MHP ticket. Hope this helps.

Mickey's Halloween Party will occur mostly on Tuesdays and Fridays, with a couple of Mondays thrown in this year. On all the Fridays, the schedule will be as OregonMickeyLover described - the party will officially begin at 7 p.m. but party guests will be allowed in at 4 p.m. The people without wristbands and party tickets will have to leave by 7 p.m.

On the earlier weekday parties, the party will actually begin at 6 p.m., and party guests will be allowed in the park at 3 p.m.

California Adventure will stay open for everyone while the Halloween party takes place in Disneyland.

In this specific post from the Halloween at DLR Superthread (which is where all information, breaking news, photos and discussion about the season are covered), if you scroll down to the HalloweenTime Information section, you will see a link to what the park hours and entertainment schedule were for last year in October, so you can get a general idea of what to expect for this year.

Keep in mind that the rides which were closed last year will be different this year - for example, last year Toy Story Midway Mania was closed for 1-1/2 months. This year we don't expect that to happen with that ride but, according to rumors and some early information, Pirates of the Caribbean will be closed for a lengthy 2-1/2 months (including all of October). Still no final confirmation of that, but it's looking like it will be necessary to close that ride for the entire Halloween season and reopen it right in time for Thanksgiving.

Just like what everyone have said that Halloween Screams Fireworks is only exclusive for Mickey's Halloween Party as well as Mickey's Costume Party Cavalcade. During last year, Celebrate a Street Party parade was available during the regular park hours even on MHP days. This year, I would expect Mickey's Soundsational Parade to be running till November until the Holiday season starts on November 14.

I probably should of specified that we would love to attend the party but we will not be there on any of it's dates. Dang!! We go from the 10/22 - 10/25~ leaving before the party. So I was hoping that on those nights when the party was not going on that they did "halloween" themed things!

There are not going to be any separate Halloween fireworks or Halloween parades that are not part of the paid Halloween party (Disney wants people to buy tickets to the party so they have to make some things exclusive), but you will be at Disneyland during the Halloween season, so that means you will have Haunted Mansion Holiday (with a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay), Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, the Halloween Round-Up, possibly (no confirmation yet) a Halloween version of World of Color, a Villains photos spot, as well as all kinds of Halloween decorations, treats and merchandise. So you are only missing the actual party, but you will experience the majority of the Halloween season's offerings.

Have you looked at the post I linked you to above, for the Halloween Superthread? That will show you all of what you can expect to see and experience during your trip.

Forgot to mention in my previous post - you will also have the option to do the Happiest Haunts tour or the Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen haunted gingerbread house workshop (this year's dates for both of these things have not been announced yet, but there is info on both from previous years in the Halloween Superthread).
