Halloween Horror Nights 2008

Can you do Stay and Scream if you have not specifically booked it as S&S but just have day and HHN tickets for the same day?

I wish I'd known this last year when we'd bought our tickets seperately, I thought we had to leave :confused3
Yes...as long as you are IN the park before they close AND have valid HHN tickets for that night, you will be instructed to go to one of the holding areas. Basically...the S & S add on is for the discounted HHN ticket. S & S doesn't actually cost any additional money...they don't stand outside the holding area and expect you to purchase another ticket. They will scan the HHN ticket to make sure it's valid and then you're set.

Darnit, so we went back outside like fools!!

Well I shall know for next time :thumbsup2

Hey- Went to HHN last year and had a blast! We did the Gory Getaway PKG and took all the advice from your posts.
One great nugget of advice was to get the Express pass for HH. We did and it was worth the $35 extra dollars.....now, am I seeing things or did the Express Pass just jump to a whopping $75 bucks!!!?!?!
What's the deal?

Also- has anyone gone on Halloween and the night after? Our schedule this year really only allows us to travel that weekend..what is it like?
We went on opening weekend last year and are now doing the opposite.

Thanks again! : )

Nope...you aren't see things. They raised the prices for the EP's on the peak nights...including opening night. I refuse to pay $69.99 for an EP for any night! They decide the price based on demand...or so the website says.

I went 11/01 last year and it was every bit as busy as before. Actually...a TM told me Halloween night was slow by comparison
.

I wish I'd known this last year when we'd bought our tickets separately, I thought we had to leave :confused3

This happened to me too last year! I mistakenly thought that stay and scream was a separate ticket, so I missed out on the head start.

I won't make the same mistake this year, I'll be in the park with my HHN ticket and enjoy the benefits of stay and scream!

Absolutely ridiculous!
That price is almost the same as an admission! We bought our Express Pass just a week before our trip and it wasn’t sold out yet so obviously the demand wasn’t that high. There was still a little bit of a wait even in the EP line. We were not sure about even spending $30 last year but when we arrived we felt it was worth it…$70 is just over the top and an extreme jump from 30.

Maybe we won't have to get the EP since we will be there Halloween night and the crowds might be smaller like you said.

I think my mom and I will stick to our plan of taking a break between the day park stuff and HHN, but I have another question - would we be allowed back in the park with our day pass shortly before HHN begins, then just stay with the Stay and Scream crowd as you suggest? Not sure if we'd do that, but I was just wondering if it would be possible...

thanks again!

Kim

If EPs are selling out on most nights, why wouldn't they raise the prices. Makes good business sense.

Hello, again, I have another question :) Does the line to get in to HHN get better or worse as the night progresses (like say around 8pm)?

Thanks again!

Kim

if you have a day ticket, you will be allowed in.

if you only have the hhn ticket, you won't.

i see you posted you have the day ticket but get to the park before 4:55 to get in.
they close at 5

depends on the day of the week.
crowds are constant usually on a saturday night.

if you can't get into the park for the S&S area, and you don't want to wait in the long line for it to open at 6:30, i would venture to guess that 8ish would be a short line out at the entrance.

i had to get something from my hotel room one night in 2003, left the hhn event and returned around 8:30. no line for me that time.

patster, i looked at the auditions page when it went up in june.
on it they posted for people that could sing, dance, etc for rocky horror.
that was a heads up for me it would be back this year.

you either love the show or you hate the show.
hard to be in between for it.

That's an interesting comment because one set of my cousins were huge fans of the show, while my siblings and I weren't fans of it. I wouldn't consider it hate, more like apathy. I find it interesting that the difference ran family lines. At family ceremonies, if the Timewarp song starts, they all run to the dance floor while we stay in our seats.

Yeah, I think coming back to the park at 8 or so might be a good idea for my mom and me for two reasons; first, 5:30 or even 6:30 just seems too darn early! It's still light out, and I just think must be scarier/more fun once it starts to get dark, you know? Second, if we rest longer we'll be able to last longer into the night :)

Poking around Youtube, I've seen snippets of some of the previous years' shows (Jack's Carnival of Carnage, Bill and Ted, the magician guy, etc.). They do look like fun, and I'm sure I'll want to see some of them (although I'm mostly interested in the houses). I know we don't know exactly what shows or how many will be going on this year yet, but about how many different shows do they usually have? And are any of these shows only done once a night or are they all done several times throughout the evening?

The only problem with going later is you run the risk of standing 2 hour lines and believe me...they will be 2 hours on some nights. If you're going to go that late, you will definately need the Express passes. Otherwise...you won't see much. The shows vary from year to year so I'm not sure how many they will have this year.

There is also another great website that I found that will get your blood flowinf for this year. It shows all the shows and has great pictures from last year.

Thanks! Yeah, I did hesitate to buy Express passes when I saw how much they cost for a Saturday night, but I figured they'd be a worthy investment, and I'm soooo glad I got them :D
