Halloween horror night tickets

Hi all, first post in a long time. We're thinking about doing a cruise and then buy a one day ticket for Universal in October. We're also going to add on HHN to our ticket. My question is if we go to IOA for the day, I assume we would have to wait until the US side opens to the general public before we can get in for HHN? Also are we allowed to do any rides on the US side once were in the HHN event?

Rides shut down then but those in line can stay for the ride.
Then escorted out of the park



Only 5 rides maybe 6 will be open during hhn

So we can ride the US rides even if we only have a one day pass and we spend it on the IOA side? Or would we need a park to park pass?

Reread your question and think I miss understood

If you are at ioa all day and leave that park for Hhn at the studios, all you need is the Hhn ticket to enter that park

You can do the houses and rides when the general public is let in

Hoping I can piggy back on to these questions

I already have my tickets for my next Universal trip. We'll be going in October. Do I have to wait until I get there to buy HHN tickets or is there going to be a way to get them ahead of time? We'll be going to HHN on October 30th or 31st, so I am hoping to get the HHN tickets ahead of time in case its a sell out.
