Hi all,

Been back for a couple of days now and we're still very miserable about not being at DLP any more :(

I'll start with the lows, unfortunately there were a few of them....

1 - Nothing to do with Disney, but our first night was at the Kyriad in Torcy (about 15 minutes drive from DLP). We didn't have high expectations, but this wasn't a great experience. The room smelt weird, the towels had big stains on them and there was a school trip staying on a few floors - they were very, very noisy

2 - Silver Spur Steakhouse - we ate here on Halloween night and it was a bad experience all round. Even allowing for how busy it was, food took a long time to arrive (we were there 2 hours in total). Then it arrived in stages with the kids food coming 15 minutes after ours. Unfortunately, it was the wrong food so had to be sent back. I'd finished my food before our two youngster's meals had arrived. Also, we asked 3 times for ketchup, but never got any.

3 - Halloween night - was, I'm sorry to say, a big anti climax. Especially considering how much it cost & how amazing the days before it had been.
It was just so busy, we hardly fit anything in and on a couple of occasions, we literally queued for nothing, eg Tiana and Naveen on the Molly Brown.
We waited for the boat & when on board, immediately queued to meet them. The queue was moving very slowly & by the time the boat ride was over, we hadn't got to the front and had to get off.
I spoke to a CM & said we didn't mind queuing - obviously it was busy - but asked what was the point of queuing for no reason. He just said that it wasn't his attraction and he couldn't help

4 - Malificent's Courtyard - great to see something new in the parks, but we didn't really get involved because of how it was organised.
We felt that we had two choices - be well mannered and miss out or let the kids push and shove to meet a character.
We tried to do it the right way once and it was so disappointing to see so many adults pushing and jostling past kids.
Even the CM's looked horrified at some peoples behaviour, but there was nothing much they could do. One guy (a grown man) pushed passed my kids to get a photo by himself, then he left and came back with his kids and pushed to the front again. We left at this point and didn't go to this again.

5 - Queuing - so many people just didn't think they had to queue that it became annoying. On the couple of occasions that I politely challenged people who tried to interrupt/cut in line, I got some very rude responses.

I feel like a right misery guts now, because we genuinely had an amazing holiday - I hadn't realised there was a few lows...anyway, on with the highs.

1 - The CM's - in all our trips to DLP, all the CM's have all been amazing, but on this trip, we were fortunate to come across some exceptionally nice and amazing CM's who really went above and beyond for us, they really are a credit and we've written to guest relations about several who were literally outstanding and made parts of our trip out of this world

2 - Pixie dust  - our two youngest had souvenir mugs filled with chocolate and sweets waiting in our room :)

3 - Ratatouille ride - what can I say about this? Incredible, just incredible...our new favourite attraction.

4 - Bistro Chez Remy - this was our best ever dining experience in 10 visits. Staff were fantastic, atmosphere & decor brilliant and most importantly, the food was just great :)

5 - Meeting Buzz - First time in 10 trips, we finally met him!!!

6 - Meeting Jack & Sally - they spent so much time with the girls and there was so much interaction with questions, jokes and conversation. They were amazing!

7 - Weather - it tried to rain for 5 minutes one day, rest of the time was either a bit cloudy or really sunny...Friday and Saturday we were in t-shirts all day :)

8 - Food in general, apart from one bad experience, the food in general was great everywhere.

9 - Pausse Gourmande vouchers - we felt these worked really well in allowing us to structure our days very well with meals and parade/show times. We used them all and enjoyed what was on offer. Only complaint with them was that every place that did food advertised a "Pausse Gourmande" making it seem common sense that you could use the voucher there, but you could only use them in counter service restaurants...once we figured this out, all went smoothly.

10 - Rides being open - apart from one occasion were POTC closed whilst we waited, everything else was up and running the whole time.

That's all I can think of right now - I've listed more lows than I have before, but that's more of an indicator of how significant this trip was for our family rather than it being worse than other trips.

It was easily our best vacation to date and by far our best trip to DLP.
Everything clicked into place to make it amazing and our girls enjoyed it so much...we're already looking for a return package for Feb 2015 :hyper:

wow another fabulous trip report from Halloween half term week - even with the parks being busy you all obviously had a great time :goodvibes.

Welcome back
Glad you had a great trip - its a pity to see manners lacking but theres no accounting for folk!! I think the CMs need to be a bit more vigilant but that too must be hard when faced with some of the aggression you hear of.
Great though that you had so many highs - I'm particularly happy to read BCR was great.
Thanks for sharing :goodvibes

Lovely to hear you had a great trip :thumbsup2 Agree re the character meets, not worth putting up with all the pushing etc.

We loved Bistro Chez Remy too - so glad we tried it.

Thanks for sharing :goodvibes
