Hi guys,

I'm wanting some advice on Halloween please.

Myself and my friend went to DLP for New Year and have booked to go again this Halloween (Mon-Fri of Half Term). I didn't realise there was a separate Halloween Party, so our original plan was to stay in the park until it closes on the Friday then drive home.

However, now I have heard about the Halloween Party, I'm not sure whether it's worth getting tickets for that or not? By that point (hopefully) we would have done all the rides etc. so for us it would just be any different character meets if there are any :confused3.

Have anyone been to the Halloween Party before? Is it worth staying for? :confused3 We're both adults and have no children with us.

We really have three options:
1) Head home at the end of the day as originally planned.
2) Stay for the Halloween Party, then drive home during the early hours
3) Stay for the party and book an extra night in DLP.

We need to make a decision soon as we want to book the Eurotunnel.

Any help would be gratefully received. :)

Thanks :)

We attended the Halloween party last year & it was very busy (probably the busiest I have ever seen the parks). If we were to go again this year we would make sure during the party we would only go to the special events put on for the evening rather than go one the rides. I am not sure if I would recommend staying for the party or not, tickets are not cheap considering you have been in the parks for 5 days at that point. If you do decide to go to it I would definitely add an additional night on to your stay. We were shattered after the party last year & I would not have liked to start the 3 hour drive back to the tunnel at that point.

I've been to the Halloween Soiree 6 years in a row.
And I have to say...it used to be worth it, but not anymore.

A couple of years ago there was loads of special entertainment purely for that evening.
There were a couple of special shows, special fireworks, a special parade etc.
But it was also only 20-25€ extra.
This year it's already 42€ on top of your normal day ticket.

Last year was extraordinary, with quite some rare characters.
But it was also that extraordinary because there was a certain prince who always gets special characters which he pays loads for.

He's not there this year, so this year is going to be the same as 2012:
Only a 20-minute show in Frontierland based on The Princess and the Frog, which is great but to pay 42€ for it? Absolutely not.
Besides that there will a dj in Discoveryland which will play music that is currently in the charts. But definitely nothing to special. And that's it.
No special fireworks or shows (apart from TPATF), no special parade, no special characters etc.

So to give you my honest and experienced opinion: it used to be worth it, and a lot cheaper, but it's not worth it anymore.

Thank you for your reply. You've definitely given me something to think about :)

Are you still going this year, or are you done with it for this Halloween season???

Not quite sure.
Usually I go to DLP once every 1,5/2 months.
But do to the fact that I'm moving to Spain for 6 months for work, I won't be at DLP for the next 6 months.

I come back in October, so maybe I'll just "go crazy" and do it.
Just to treat myself after not being there for so long.
Especially since a lot of friends of mine will be going to the Soiree, so that'll make it more fun.

But the price makes me doubting weither or not I should.
It's so incredibly expensive, especially for what you're getting in return.
I'll probably decide in Summer, when the first rumours are starting to spread.

I think we're still aiming to go - but not for the actual Soirée.
Like you, we go a lot. Mostly every school holiday is spent there. Halloween falls on the school holiday again which means it crosses our paths once again, but at even £30 or an AP discount for euros, I'm not sure if this year can justify it. Especially as four of us can eat of site for about €20 and we're tied to eating in the park :-/

I understand the dilemma.
I will definitely be there to experience the Halloween season!
It's my favorite time of year, not going to miss that.
I'll be there October 29th until November 1st.
Just not 100% sure if I'm going to the Soiree.
