DD's friend wants to come over to our house to go trick or treating in our neighborhood. The girls have been looking forward to doing this. There is a small catch... Her mom just told her that she can only go with DD if she brings along her younger brother. :headache: I hate it when parents do this.:headache:

I'll be the bad guy tonight. :sad2:

I talked to the mom and told her that she is welcome to come with us to keep an eye on her son. I could tell she wasn't pleased. She said that she'd call me later to let me know.

That irritates me when parents try to pawn off the younger children on me to babysit for them. One of my ds's friends would come over to spend the night and bring the younger brother too. I had to put a stop to that because the younger brother was mean to my youngest son.

It is a very rude thing to do. I like the way you handled it. :thumbsup2

Great idea!! Although, if the mom isn't much fun..... and the little brother could still be a pain..... but, at least you don't have to deal with him this way. Have fun!

Quick thinking OP! Perfect response. It pointed out to her in a round about way her rudeness without being mean. Wonder what her response is going to be?

That was quick thinking. Let us know if she goes. Something tells me she won't. I don't know. But that was quite rude of her!

It was quick thinking because I've been burned so many other times. DD is my youngest and I've been in this position with her brothers. A few friendships have ended because of parents forcing the other siblings to "tag along". Is it so hard to tell the other siblings that the invitation doesn't include them? :confused3

Well, the father just dropped off DD's friend and left. I guess that's it.

She didn't even give you the courtesy of calling you back? Sounds like someone wanted a nice couples evening at your expense and is tiffed that it didn't work. Foiled!

Have a great Halloween, RitaZ!

Good! I hope you guys have fun and I hope the other parents do something fun with the brother....

No call, but that's ok. I wasn't expecting one. I told the father that I'd take her home when the evening is over. I'm glad the girls will get to have some fun together.

Happy Halloween to all of you! :goodvibes

Hi Rita! PERFECT response!:worship: HAPPY HALLOWEEN to you:hmghost: and hope all is good with you guys these days!
