I will let you all know that you are asking about Jacob she told me to call her this morning..Hopefully Heather said they will only have to keep him for 24-48 hours..

Details, details... Okay, it was a bit of stretch. :lmao:

It did come out a bit blurry but Heather is going to fix it so it is not this way..she will appreciate you finding this image...Later this week I am sure she will have time to tweek it before we begin ordering...Choc-marg, can you keep this image bookmarked for Heather when she returns to the boards?? thanks so much since I will be away most of the week......

Right now Heather just called me her sons surgery was very difficult for him and he became dehydrated and they had to admit him to the hospital this afternoon...So lets pray that Jacob is ok...He is hooked up to an IV now and she said she would call me later to let me know how he is...He vomitted a few times today so she got him ther just in time.... I will keep you all updated...

I figured, but thought I should make sure.

Hopefully, Choc_Marg is still asleep, so I'll answer... Cody is doing great. He's pretty much back to old self, except for the obvious physical differences (scar & new "belly button" on his stomach and his belly is no longer distended). But, we're all getting a little tired of the cath'ing every two hours... This weekend we get to extend that to 3 hours for a couple of weeks (woohoo).

More pixiedust: for Jacob! And a little pixiedust: for his parents - it stinks having your kids in the hospital!

Choc,
Those were some really cool images in that link. Where did you get that? Is it okay to save one and change the dates/names and make a sign for my door?

Definitely! It is from the Creative DISigns board. JuliaandNick'sMom has a huge post with all of her designs. She'll even customize them for you. Here's the link to the main message (I just included the cruiseline one).

Good Morning to all,

Boy, it has been a long time since I posted; this summer is flying by.

I don't know if this has already been answered, but does anyone know how DCL is going to handle Pirate Night falling on Halloween? I am currently working on my family's pirate costumes, and was going to start on Halloween costumes next. pirate:

I just was hoping to find out if there will be an opportunity to dress for both occasions or not, before investing more time and money.

Thanks for all replies and have a great day!

I think the general feeling is that there would be two different celebrations, but I dont know for sure. :confused3

I don't think we have any verified information on how they will handle Halloween. They have done something in previous years ON halloween. That leads me to believe that it won't be any different this year and that they will have the activities on Halloween. Of course, the DIS ToT is on Monday, so the kids can dress up for that too.

Hey everyone we need a bump up to first page. I guess it is pretty quiet without Crash and Kritter.

We can't let things fall to the second page because they aren't here!!

Returning cruisers can make ressies this weekend!! What's everyone planning on booking??? I have been bribed/paid by goofydrivesacar & LaRue to get AWOL a banana boat on CC, so I'll be booking that.....

Oops. This a public forum right? Maybe he won't see that :rotfl2:

We will be doing excursions on our own, so no need to book those this weekend. We already have Palo ressies courtesy of our REAS package travelling partners, so I guess all we really need to do is the kids clubs. No real sense in staying up til midnight for that. So, we'll be dreaming while you all are up at 3am EST to book :)

I'm still here! :wave2: Just sort of lurkin' and enjoing the banter!!! TOmorrow I hit the road (7 hours of driving in a huge triangle from Westlake Village to San Luis Obispo - to Visalia (the center of the heat wave out here!) ... then home. I checked out a book on CD for the drive. What a mess!

So... take it easy if it's hot in your area too!!!!

Well I called DCL yesterday to inquire about the Pirates night/ Halloween celebrations. The nice CM, to whom I spoke, said that it shouldn't be a conflict, as Halloween is on Tuesday, and Pirate night is always celebrated on the night we are in port at St. Martin, which he said will be Wednesday. However, when I checked the on-line Eastern itinerary, it showed St. Martin as a port on Tuesday.

So...I am still not sure how they are going to handle the two celebrations, but wanted to let you know the DCL CM's response. Either way, I will make costumes for both events, just so we're covered. :thumbsup2

I'm bringing the kid's costumes for both celebrations as well. Dh and I are getting pirate t-shirts for pirate night, and not sure if we'll dress up for halloween yet.

My guess is Disney will do their T or T on Monday also. But who knows.....

Since this is our first cruise, and we haven't been through the online reservation thing yet, can someone tell me just how this works? I will go ahead and register the kids in the club/lab, but not sure how much they will actually be there. We aren't planning on doing the spa or Palo since this is all new to us, and we aren't sure if the kids will even like the club/lab. So.....maybe save that for next time. But we are planning on excursions through Disney in St. Maarten and St. Thomas. We are already paid up, but can't make reservations until August 14 (I think).

TIA!

You are absolutely correct. I'm not sure we will know for sure when and how Halloween will be celebrated until we get on-board. The crew is probably the only ones that know for sure what will happen and they probably haven't even decided yet. I'm also sure we are going to get a different response for almost every call we make (CMs are notoriously clueless).

I guess the biggest problem for us is that they haven't dealt with this before as there hasn't been a pirate night long enough to have Halloween fall on the same day before - at least as far as I can tell...

So, what I think we know is this:
1) They won't move pirates night because, as I recall, they can't do the fireworks any other night. pirate:
2) The could do their Halloween ToT deal on Pirates night or on Monday or even Sunday. :confused3
3) We can either bring 2 costumes or dress as pirates for Halloween.

Maybe we should dig out the Halloween on pirate night thread on the main board and keep bumping it until we get an answer that satisfies all of us ;) I know some of the crew reads the boards but I'm not aware of them ever answering questions...

Hi everyone. I was hoping to be a better contributor than I have been but it has been a couple crazy weeks with traveling and etc. Rebekah was in the hospital for a couple days due to a nasty bug that lead her to become significantly dehydrated. At one point they were concerned she may have developed diabetes. :sad2: Of course, to make life interesting, I was traveling during this time and my wife was handling the homefront. Luckily, they did some blood work last Monday and she is apparently okay and they are going to keep an eye on things for now. She is back home and after a week of extra rest is back up and running around. :grouphug:

We are well on our way to making plans. As my in-laws have the suite they already have many reservations set up. It should be lots of fun once we can do the rest of the reservations.

Judy (my Mother-in-Law and chief architect of this cruise experience) had inquired about the pirates night and Halloween. She had been told a couple months ago that they would have Trick or Treat starting early in the evening and then the Pirates event would carry some Halloween themes. Who knows if things have changed since then?

One quick question. I have snorkel gear for myself and the two older kids. I had seen somewhere that Castaway Cay had a requirement that snorkelers had vests. Is this a requirement and where do we get them? Is there a cost? I am sure that someone has had this experience.

Chris
