HI All,

Yet another rainy day!!!! It really stinks.....

Anyone else get their DCL documents?????

Crash love the costumes...YOur wife is brave to wear that costume...

Fran and Dave got anypictures form the cruise we can see?????

EDITED IN on June 22nd, 2006 .... Evidently, GINGER edited out her remarks above two postings up (hiding something?) - but I have a copy of posting here since I was replying to it naturally in it's original form .... not much harm in it though as far as I can tell .... odd that she replaced it with a little icon.

Kristen docs????? It's to early for docs, do you mean the cruise planners? We got ours on Tuesday.

We're all paid for  , counting down the days till I can make ressies.

I was wondering earlier way it was taking so long to download our thread, but now I see why, those pictures are huge. WOW! I guess the boards guidelines have changed.

I detect a note of complaint leveled my way.... Are my photos assumed to be slowing your loading times? May i suggest you simply get a faster connection? LOL! :lmao:

Gosh... I read my own stuff and I have to wince ... forgive me if I seem stiff - I wuz just foolin' around. I had a really busy day - and an even busier weekend in store.

Kristen - sorry the rain is not favoring your day. Believe it or not - I actually LIKE the rain. It is an interesting and clean sort of thing from my POV. Of course, too uch of a good thing is not all that good too. I fully recognize that Princess Olivia has had entirely too much rain by anyones' standards! :badpc: Hope you're getting a handle on things in your situation. Plus we did get a travel planning thing too. I just noticed it - as I was grumbling that here was something else everybody else got except us.... but now I see we did get the same thing. have not seen too much of it - but I'll look closer at it later.

You just like saying the name, don't you? :rotfl2:

It is certainly impressive looking stuff. They don't tend to do much damage other than when cars don't get off the road and get their lights turned off (and feet off of the brake pedal). That's when people get hurt. You don't want some crack'ed up truck driver with a porn mag in his lap trying to follow you when you are parked!

AWOL, your remarks draw a vivid picture in my eye (Vivid... duh, huh? :lmao: ). Seriously, I look at the images and think - wow - that dusty storm front is visually HUGE! :earseek: Of course, what you have to say seems to apply for most of the earth quakes we get out our way. It seems as if 97% of the time when a quake happens I glace at my spouse or muse.... ah heck... it's not even over a 5... and I go back to what ever I was doing. And - 3% of the time it's more than a 5 quake and I'm runnin' for a door way while flashing a thought about adding more life insurance! Oh ... and on another note - I thought the "chirping crickets" were another fine image!!!! :lmao:

SO - tomorrow we have ... nothing special planned except rest for the weekend and determine how to handle the mistakes from my Disney on Line purchase. :confused3 In particular - how to process the returns for their having sent me a childs' T-shirt with a hole in it - and the T-shirt that should have been a sweat shirt. Then saturday we have a make up gynastics session, kids birthday party :grouphug: , part of a dinner party, then we're meeting my spouses' sister and her family as they stop over at our airport enroute back to Hawaii. The little cousins will play a bit as the sisters chat about the surprise 80th birthday party they are developing for their Dad. :hyper2: I get to chat with her husband about digital cameras, Ferraris and Hawaiian RE trends. The same ol' stuff. Then on Sunday we have a kids' gymnastics birthday party - then nothing for the day but recover. Oh yeah - on Monday we have an advisory council appreciation luncheon for our daughters' P-school. popcorn:: I'm pretty active on the council so I'm looking forward to a nice little lunch.

I'll try to get a posting up of the custom work in a day or so - or tonight maybe. No later then sunday evening. Gotta charge the camera battery - today as it was a special discount day for posting selling listings on eBay (so my camera battery is dead from use in making photos for eBay + other recent uses) - everything on eBay was $0.20 for insertions today regardless of starting price - so I put together 15 listings for some junk around here. My dear spouse won't let me throw it out - so we have to try to sell it before it goes to a thrift shop or ??? Of course, my spouse is a size ZERO petite - so her stuff won't fit anyone who might shop at a thrift shop - so it goes onto eBay. I imagine if she knew I was writing this in the DIS forum she would poke and jab me sharply in the ribs uuntil I edited it out!!! :duck:

Anyway - after hangin' out with her 22+ years I just do as she wants to keep her happy... and vice versa. ;) Like when it comes to joining Anakin as Padame with the blaster and skin suit sans mid drift... she's a decent sport about it... provided I get the thing tailored a bit as I think something on it needed adjustment. :darth: We're gonna use these costumes at least twice this year - once at a Halloween costume dinner party we're hosting and again on the cruise... so it gets tailored a bit.

:surfweb: OK - for a change - no pictures inserted (OK?) and I'll even deleat y signature to conserve bandwidth capacity for faster loading. :goodvibes

OK... gotta go now.... charge the camera and cellular batteries and get to my other late nite chores.

Adios! :surfweb:

Just noticed I broke 1000 postings... yah! :dance3:

Fran and Dave got anypictures form the cruise we can see?????

Kristen....we have some but I have not had time to go through them yet. We did not take as many this time. Maybe this weekend I will go through them and try to get some posted. I need to figure out how to post a picture on here in a message.

I hope the floods have gone done and the sandstorms have gone away. Not much planned for the weekend. Trying to arrange a beach outing with the neighbors on Sunday.

Everyone have a great weekend

...Everyone have a great weekend

Dave

Dave... here's 1 way you can post images on the DIS....

1st... upload your photo to a web site, Several image hosting sites are FREE. One such site is the one I use - dot photo - but the free accounts have some real restrictions too, More on that later, ...
Once you have photos loaded... if you have dot photo - the quickest way is to go into your album and enlarge an image for viewing. Having done that - right click on the image... select "properties" from the bottom. A new mini window should pop up. In the middle of it should be an address with a "jpeg" at the end of the line. I specify JPEG because ocassionally it will NOT post a JPEG address line OR the line will scroll through more then 3 vertical lines and it only displays 2 lines at a time - so you have to drag through and LOOK for the entire 3 lines when selecting it. So - to select the entire line (left click with the cursor at the beginning of the line and with the left button simulataneously depressed more your cursor to the end of the line until you have selected the entire line in black). Now either select from your title bar "copy" under "edit" at the top lefyt edge of your screen or do the lazy thing and do a control "C". Now in the DIS window where you are in the midst of posting... when you want to insert an image... begin by typing the following
(bold faced for ease in seeing this only) and in the center between the two brackets you PASTE the images' web address line. OR the lazy way is to put your insertion point between the brackets and do a control "V". The lazy way is fastest with the least wrist motion IMHO.

Now the image will appear in the modest size you see my images occupying. Other web sites will support smaller or far larger images. My dotphoto images are deliberately kept small and syntheticly low in resolution to make it very hard for someone to RIP OFF your image for personal or commercial use. I find dotphoto sizes to be "just right" for security and utility on the web. The shots will not be huge and super detailed - but then again I'm unlikely to discover one or more of my images in use on someone elses' site or in a catalog somewhere. Well... actually it could be used on another web site but the resolution would be lower and possibly contain the annoying dot photo "free image ad".

Now on dot photo... they have free accounts - but upload capacity is limited and print prices are slightly stiff without paying for a subscription. A subscription extends capacity and duration of image storage, plus drops your printing prices to a nominally low level + you get a varying number of free prints depending on what you're paying. HOWEVER, it also adds the ability for RESELLING your prints for profit !!! I have sold several hundred in prints and several hundred in digital files. It totals into a thousand plus - enough to off set a meaningful fraction of my equipment cost - and I do it strictly on a pleasure basis.... not as a business. HOWEVER, when you adjust the settings to generate profit for folks who buy your prints then dotphoto slams you with storage and time limit restrictions on storage. So you have to watch that if you are prolific - OR - you can PAY for additional storage capacity! So if you make the site commercial then they won't let you ride cheap and free easily. On the other hand if you're strictly non-profit through the site then it gives you more benefits at no cost.

Years ago - it used to be unlimited storage capacity for an unlimited time - then subscribers like myself took obscene advantage of them and stored several dozen gigabytes of data. Now I am generally restricted to 2 gig as I buy no extra storage. Barely enough for 1200~1500 low compression 6 MP images.

If you're a Costco member then you can do the same with the for FREE - but I am familiar with dotphoto because I can make spare change here with my images... however I do also use Costco for speed and convenience in up loading 1 ~ 2 hour 4x6 photos at $0.15 each. Plus - you can't beat Costco for $1.49 glossy or satin prints in 8x10s or $2.99 12x18 enlargements .... in 2-4 hours usually on the same day!

I think everyone knew what I meant when I said Doc.. Even though this is my first DCL adventure I know it is too early for the "official" documents..... So my sincere apologies if I made a mistake and called them documents when it was a travel planner....

WE are not all paid for but my DH being the financial savy one says why give DCL our money when we can collect still collect interest on it and then we have more money to spend... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
That must be exciting for you to be all paid for though...

I think you mean my pictures well sorry if it slowing things down for you :badpc: :badpc: I like to be able to look at my kids and if you have not noticed others have posted larger pictures and we all like it that way...It is nice to be able to share others families and see what we are all up to...Makes us that much closer.... :grouphug: :grouphug: Sorry again for the inconvience...

Jen can not wait for you to share OLivia's dance pictures with us...The bigger the better :lmao: :lmao: LOL!!!!The twins will be looking for them... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Crash keep posting the pictures Like I said above I enjoy them and so do so many others.....If I can not get them to upload then I simly will make my computer show them...and I will use force.... :badpc: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh I want the rain to stop...I will send it your way...Maybe then it will leave me and make me feel better...YOu will be happy to know that I am seeing a specialist for my condition who once worked in Boston and is not here in CT...maybe your BIL knows him...????

Kristin....we have some but I have not had time to go through them yet. We did not take as many this time. Maybe this weekend I will go through them and try to get some posted. I need to figure out how to post a picture on here in a message.

Oh great when you and Fran have time please post them...We would love to see them...I think Crash had posted how to do it...If you need help I will help you I use photobucket and it is sooo easy to put them on the boards..

The beach would be fun for you all...I bet you are soo tan right now...from the cruise and all...Did you end up rebooking for another one on board...

Did you end up rebooking for another one on board...

We did not book another, we just rebooked for Oct 2007, so that we got the discount and the on board credit. Saved us around $400. We are thinking about booking a 4 day for next July/Aug for just DW and I for our 20th. We will look into that on this cruise.

I guess I'm too innocent. I don't get the vivid thing :confused3 (tehe) :rotfl2:

Congrats on 1000 posts. now, you have 1K (1024) to look forward to!

Crash your daughters are really beautiful. I am so bad at shopping on ebay. I get frustrated by the bidding. Maybe you should start directly sending me pictures of your spouses clothes  . I think I might be a bit taller at 5'7" but I am her clothing size. I could look at and buy clothes all day. Right Kristin? Ann Taylor is our other best friend

Guess what.......YES it's RAINING!!! Not only is it raining but we have another flood watch up. I can't even go downstairs without making myself sick stepping on that wet carpet. On top of the flooding Olivia has dress reahersal tonight that we won't get home from until after 11:00. Tomorrow she's in two shows 5 acts each. I have a headache. On a brighter note if anyone is looking for a really cute and yummy gift check out jillssweettreats, I got all dance, coaches, teachers gifts here this year. SO cute.

I don't care if the papers are "docs" or "planning guides" all I know is I still didn't get anything. I'm not sure what's going on about the pictures, but my computer isn't taking any longer than usual :confused3. I LOVE all your pictures big and small. If I knew how to post pictures you would all be overwhelmed by how many I take. I will try to follow your directions Crash. I would also love to see pictures of your trip Fran and Dave. Talk to you all soon.

Dave and Fran,

This weekend we are celebrating twelve years on Sunday...Wow time flies when your in love...  LOL!!!

Capt,

Love the most recent pictures you have of you with your kids...They are so beautiful and always looks soo happy....

Happy weekend...say a pray for us that it stops raining here......

Hi! Just moved to this cruise from CC Double Dip in Nov. 2006 because we talked my mother and mother-in-law into going with us and MIL wanted the Eastern instead. People going with us:

Me (of course)
DH
DS9
DD7 (as of cruise, birthday is 2 days before cruise)
DD9 months (as of cruise)
DM
DMIL
And maybe DFIL if he can get the time off from work.

We booked the Double Dip on board the ship in January 2005 when there was only 4 of us. Then we had a "little surprise" happen later that spring and had to talk DM and DMIL into going to keep cost reasonable. Not that it was that hard to do. :teeth: So now we have two rooms on deck 7 a couple rooms apart, with DD9 months registered with the mothers.

I haven't had a chance to go through this entire thread because of the length yet. Can you tell when and where the DIS meet will be? Also, are the DIS members doing a trick or treat? If so, just let me when and what we need to do to participate. Thanks.

Jennifer

kristin

Welcome Jennifer! :welcome:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We took the kids to see the new cars movie last night. It was great! The kids just loved it! Off to Timmy's baseball game. Another double header today!

:dance3: Welcome aboard Jennifer to you and all your gang! :dance3:

You have inadvertantly transferred onto the most special haunted sailing of the year! We're gonna have a special DIS trick or treating run through the ship, a possibly SCARY DIS costume contest (I hope to win back my autograph book I awarded for our last on-line game - if it's volunteered as the prize for the costume contest! :lmao: ).... and we're hosting the 2nd annual slightly spooky Unofficial DIS Mickey Ice Cream Bar Speed Eating Challenge!!!!! Plus maybe another DIS diversion if anyone wants to propose it AND probably volunteer to lead the organization for it! We still need a volunteer to take the fall for, er rather, to lead and organize the Toga party someone hinted at ;) earlier. Oh no... that was NOT me who proposed it ... it MUST have been someone else! :confused3

At any rate, we should have a little extra fun beyond the ordinary DCL patron - no doubt about that at all!

:disrocks:

At any rate... welcome aboard to our humble DIS gathering here!!!! :welcome:

Everyone ready for Pirate pirate: Night ?
-
Do you-all think it will be held on Halloween ? :confused3

This is my first attempt to post a photo :badpc:

Hopefully a Pic of Mickey with Mr. & Mrs. Big15foot will appear !
