Hey,
Page two Crash your slipping!!!
Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!!!!!
Anyone have anymore cruise pics they could share???
Been out of town for a
Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm visit. KBF was running a TOys for Totts promotion where if you donated an unwrapped gift with a $10 value then one person gets in free. So... Alicia and I had not been to KBF in about 15 years so this presented an opportunity for us to visit at minimal cost (3 toys and no charge for entry - we saved about $135 less the cost of the toys!) ... and it was an "excuse" to go and try it out. We met up with 4 other families for the weekend - one of whom came out from Westlake Village with us and stayed at our same hotel. The other 3 families reside closer to the amusement parks so they commuted from home.
So... our visit to KBF was sort of nice. It definately was different. I'm not sure but I couldn't tell whether there was any security in the parking lot and I thought it was a little dark and under-developed. But on the other hand they had a pleasantly well resolved children's area well suited for our kids. So - with their annual passes so inexpensive I think we'll semi-stagger our Disney annual passes with KBF passes when the DL passes come up for renewal.
Aside from that - I've been "abandoned" by my dear spouse. She hopped a jet for a training class in Newark this morning and will not return for another 1,948 minutes... and 35 seconds (estimated, of course). She'll land just before 11PM tomorrow and get home near midnite.
So I figure on taking the kids out to dinner tonite in spite of my spouses' admonishment that we had a lot of left overs in the fridge that needed
"attention". Shoot... I'm such a disobedient spouse that I nearly took the kids to Disneyland without her today. However, I had a Bible study rehersal for a skit we were putting on for a Christmas program (I'm playing Joseph and Alicia got the Mary part). So the rehersal cut into the late morning and then we took a really long lunch at home (yeah - I was making an effort at clearing the fridge a little).
Since we did not get free until 2-ish ... and if we had embarked for DL then we would not have arrived until possibly 4-ish... that was simply too late to go. I usually prefer to walk in before 10AM and leave between 2 and 4PM ... depending on the crowds.
So... we are lounging at home. I just won a cool Carbon fiber/magnesium alloy monopod on Ebay today for about thirty bucks. These things sell at full retail from the "fameous maker" for as much as $500... so I'm kind of curious to see if it is a) usable; b) fake carbon fiber or not magnesium alloy; c) somehow a scam and non-functional; or d) stolen. I guess my best hope is that it was "stolen" by me and everything the seller claims it to be and in brand new condition. I'll find out in about 7-14 days and report - cuz I know everyone will be litterally on the edge of their seats in anticipation... (yawn)....
So... I hope everyone is well and having a great weekend. Mine has been OK. Can't complain much - we got some "fair" news that was expected to be really BAD ... and it is not as BAD as we thought it was going to be. We still are not out of the "woods" yet but at least we're fairly sure we're not in any "haunted" or "dark and evil" woods anymore. The woods are still scary and mysterious... but that's OK for now. Cryptic, yes... but a mystery ... no? Eh?
Heer are a few cruise pix from September...
I think the
top left was at a place called the dock yard on Barbados - this was a beach where the crew frequents. At the
top right is Castaway Caye. This clearly was one of the lightest crowds we've ever experienced. Obvious evidence that our sailing was NOT fully sold by any means. In the middle row the images are self explanitory. And
at the bottom the image is of 3 of us in our "pajamas" with Captain Jack. Our older daughter was asleep in the stroller. We had attended breakfast in our PJs with a few other folks... and afterwards Jack was out there ready to shoot portraits. So I thought ... why not do it in our PJs?
