Halloween Cruise 2004 Trip Report
Part 6: Day 6, Thursday, November 4
Heres the cast: theres me DM Shirley (58), DD Debbie (30), DSIL Paul (39), DGS Hunter (6), DD Beth (36) and DSIL Daryl (30). We were booked in SPH 5520 and inside cabin 5513 which was just down the hall. Me, Debbie, Paul and Hunter were in 5520 and my other daughter Beth and husband Daryl were in 5513.
Three highlights for this day-at-sea and they are: seafood buffet for lunch, bingo, and Disney Dreams.
We went to the seafood buffet at Parrot Cay and I was so happy. I just love seafood and they had jumbo shrimp and crab claws! Talk about heaven I had so many shrimp that I still dont have a craving for them and my oldest daughter was in competition with another passenger to see who could eat the most crab claws. The server said she won but I just know that she enjoyed the meal too. Had to be one of the best lunches we had on the ship.
Now for THE bingo game! I had played it earlier in the week at Rockin Bar D and had fun but today was the last day it was going to be played and everyone (including me and my daughters) wanted a shot at that jackpot. I bought my sheets earlier that day right after lunch near the shops in order to avoid the rush when you get to the theater. It was to be played in the Walt Disney Theater (so many people) at 4:00 you can purchase a jumbo pack for $35 which is six cards on one sheet for each game (there are five games including the jackpot). So you get a packet of five sheets. When we arrived at the theater, it was filling up fast I couldnt believe that so many people wanted to play but then the jackpot was close to $7000.
We are moving merrily along with the games there was the one with getting 5 numbers in a row, then one with getting all four corners, another with getting 4 numbers in a square (dont know the official names for them) and I cant remember what the 4th one was I think that we had to get only G numbers. But the jackpot game was one where you had to have every number on your card called. Im concentrating on my cards and then noticed that one of my daughters had only one number left. Yikes! If you have one number left to be called, you are to stand up. So she stood up and there was another lady in front of her that stood up too (plus there were already some other people standing in other parts of the theater). Caz, the caller is milking the game for all its worth and looks at my daughter and the lady in front of her and asks which number do they need. The lady in front needs G52 and my daughter needs G51. Caz pulls the number and it is GGGGGGGGG 555555555 2 ahhhhhhhh. So close!!!! It was still exciting even though we didnt win. The woman who won was from Pennsylvania and she was holding her toddler and jumping around. She was so excited that she finally handed her daughter to Que (the bingo helper) to hold so that she could hug her son who was about 8 or 9. We were happy for her.
Now got to see Disney Dreams after dinner I love that show. I think it and Golden Mickeys are tied for being the best shows! The movie, The Incredibles was going to premier at 12:01am tonight but I know that I just couldnt stay up that late so I planned on seeing it Friday evening as that evenings entertainment. My grandson was excited about going to the beach tomorrow (Castaway Cay) so off to bed after Disney Dreams.
I think that I will wrap up my trip report with a final installment either tomorrow or Monday. Hope that everyone is enjoying them.
