We plan on going to Mickey's not so scary Halloween party on Sunday night. Most of our family are adult couples and we all plan on dressing up in costumes to be in the spooky spirit. This may sound silly but our inner kid parts want to participate like other kids.

Can we go to different stations photos and candy? must we have a child by our side?

Also, we are from New England and all the halloween costumes here are made for cold weather. So we are bringing light costumes for warm, humid nights. Would you say that's accurate? What is the weather like at night?
particularly if you are wearing a costume?

Thank for any thoughts!

:welcome: to the DISboards, backfromboston!

The parties are heavily attended by adults.
All activities are for any age participants.

The weather/temperature/humidity conditions can't be predicted.
You may be too hot or too cold on your particular evening.

Fellow New Englander here too!!!

My wife and I went to the Halloween party 2 years ago and we acted like kids the whole time. We stopped at all the candy stations and did a bunch of character meets including the 7 dwarves and all the princesses with their princes' in fairytale hall. The whole point of the party is to dress up and have fun just like its Halloween so go all out if you want. I definitely recommend a lighter costume than what we are used to up here. Temps and humidity can still be pretty high during the party although you will see some people decked out in costumes that just look so thick and heavy you feel bad for them lol :-)

I hope you have a great time and enjoy the party :-)

Yes, you can participate in all activities and get as much candy as you want. Also, yes, expect it to be quite warm. One year I did a full black costume, with a rigid chest piece and face makeup, but it was miserably hot. Best to keep it light.

There were ALOT of adults dressed up at the two we just attended. The wife and I did matching shirts and face paint. We had a blast. I think the adults actually get into it more than the kids. The weather was warm at night so dress accordingly. You'll have a great time!

We just went on October 1, it was just me and DH, we dresses up as R2D2 and C3P0, went to every candy station, met characters and had a blast. It was pretty hot and humid the night we went.

I am a former New Englander as well! We just went to 2 parties around 2 weeks ago and it was very muggy. My little guy took his costume off one of the nights within an hour because he was too hot, and it was very lightweight. I was in shorts and a t-shirt and still hot and uncomfortable. FL weather can change quickly and be raining, hot, muggy, or cool around this time of year. As for dressing up...YES! We all did trick or treating and pics. There were plenty of adults only as well as families, so go and have a great time!

Thanks - can't wait!

We are bringing our costumes (probably Newsies, we have all the clothes and Banner papers and bag). If it's really warm we will improvise or buy something locally.

However, buying a costume locally would mean going "off campus" looking for a store.

I just did 2 parties by myself last week. I had a blast. I nearly everything except the dance party in tomorrowland. I think it's still warm at night but I did throw a light sweater into my backpack just in case that I never needed.

My costumes were female Ghost Host with a sleeveless black dress, the ghost host apron and hat from Momento Mori and then the Evil Queen on the 2nd night that was a knee length, sleeveless dress with the cape and crown that I've had for a few years. Both outfits were perfect for the temps.

10th year of 2 MNSSHP parties a year ALL ADULTS and we go in costume (we bring 2 for 2 parties), and we do EVERYTHING! I think you will be very surprised to see how many all adult groups there are .... I hardly notice the kids anymore.

I heard from a disney employee in guest relations (over live chat) that adults are not permitted to wear masks or anything on your face that conseals identity. Only children can do it.

Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks
