OK My dds have decided NOW they that want to attend the Halloween dance at the school tonight. Everyone MUST wear a costume. I need some ideas quickly.I have no time to go to a store so it has to be things we might have.
Thanks :wizard:

how old are they? what kinds of things do you have around the house?

Someone suggested a "Disney Tourist" on another thread, and I thought that was cute!

How old are we talking?

Little: - wear a dress, cut a crown out of cardboard, put tin foil on it with some jewels and wear fancy shoes. (NOw a queen)

- Dress completely in black, make a black eye mask and take a sack full of stuff you "stole"

Older : Wear prom dress, make a sash (sp) and be a beauty queen. White your face out and be a dead prom date.

- Put your head Through(!) the black garbage bag. Tie it around waist area, fill with crumpled newspaper. Glue 3 white dots on the upper side, You are now a bowling ball! (A friend of mine her mom did this one in a pinch one night!)

Pin a bunch of socks all over their clothing and really mess up their hair with hair spray and they can be "static cling" (bonus points if they pretend to stick to each other!)

Run to the store and buy some M&M bags. Empty the M&Ms into a bowl and tape the empty wrappers to their clothing. When someone asks what their costume is they are "Eminem, the rapper".

You can easily make a toga out of sheets! Cut some leaves out of green construction paper for their hair.

Construction worker - dirty jeans, plaid shirt, brown eyeliner to make dirt smudges and a mustache on the face.

boy magnet - Where all black and cut out boys from magazines and tape them to your clothes

Lifeguard (or a 'beach bum') - shorts, flip flops, bathingsuit top with a tanktop over it, whistle around the neck and use white paint on the nose for zinc oxide

Cut out the letter "P" and attach it to a shirt. Then, use black eye make-up to make a black eye: Black Eyed P!! (That's what I'm doing! :p )

OK I was busy trying to look for old costumes. One dd is 9 she has a costume already. Other dd is 11 Has nothing and is apicky child to please.LOL
I am most concerned that I need a costume as well.
Thanks for the suggestions so far.
Disney tourist Huh we have mickey ears and I am wearing a WDW shirt right now

I saw a family once going to the MNNSHP wearing black shorts, their mickey ears and white t-shirts with iron on letters spelling their names. The whole family looked really cute.

:) I thought it was a cute idea! I wish I could credit the person whose idea it was!) It is my backup for Saturday, if we get home from the ballgame in time to trick or treat!

Do you have any tie-dyed shirts lying around? They could be hippies. Take lipstick and draw the peace sign on their cheeks, and if you have any long strings of beads they can wear those too.
If they have plaid shirts, cowboy type and jeans they could be cowgirls. Especially if you add braids on the sides of their heads

OK I have old mardi gras masks. A disney hat, I am thinking maybe we can pull this off. DD1 found her old Christmas tree costume from dance so she may wear that.I just need something for me

Got any Smarties candies?

Tape them to your pants with clear packing tape, and voila: Mrs Smarty Pants!!!!

Can't take credit, saw it on another website, but I thought it was super cute.

Here's a super easy one...did it last year and got some compliments...Redneck Woman. How? Wear a red ribbon around your neck...I used some old Christmas ribbon (wide) and I wore a flannel shirt and jeans.

Thanks for all the suggestions THey were great. We actually wound up finding old scrubs from a previous year and a stethoscope. I went as a doctor DD1 went as a patient fully wrapped thanks to the first aid kit and DD2 went as the Angel of Death. We didn't win anything but had a great time.
Thanks everyone for your help.
