Day 4 - Disney!

Day 5 - Tuesday 12th October

I always want to do EMH when at Disney and this trip was no exception. Not everyone shared my enthusiasm however ;) Anyway, we were in the park just after 8am minus Mark who had decided to have a lie in.

I feel obliged to take a photo of the castle every time I see it - it's just so lovely

It was really cold this morning. As it had been so hot yesterday, we had just come out in t-shirts and fleeces. I had packed gloves, but we never took them into the park as we didn't think we'd need them. We would know better the rest of the week ;)

Lewis had a go at the sword

First ride was Peter Pan. Although we've been on this loads of times, I still really love it, but only ever do it EMH now.

Then over to the Dumbos

We then went back to Peter Pan to heat up a bit. Then we went to the Carousel, which Lewis always pretends to be a knight on.

We then went over to Discoveryland and Abbey wanted to do Space Mountain. I went on that with her and John and Lewis did Orbitron. Then we met up and Lewis and Abbey did Orbitron.

It was really cold so we decided to visit Salon Mickey for the first time!! I kind of knew where it was, beside the entrance to Disneyland Hotel, but I couldn't see it. So I asked the CM where it was. He started giving me directions into the Village, which I knew was wrong. I said again Salon Mickey, and he pointed it out. I think he was trying to direct me to Cafe Mickey :rotfl:

Anyway, here it is for anyone else who is as dumb as me :goodvibes

The CM who answered the door was very nice and let us help ourselves from the goodies on the desk. We had cookies and crossiants. We had hot chocolate from inside, and Lewis took some water.

It was about 9:30 now so we went back to the hotel room and Mark was up and showered waiting for us. We then went to breakfast and Lewis met Baloo and Mickey at the entrance.

Mickey had a try on of Lewis' hat and Lewis thought this was hilarious!

We were shown to a table in between Inventions and California Grill - it was like we were in the hall......Breakfast was nice, but was not piping hot as I would have liked. Lewis loved that he could help himself at the buffet and was up and down like a yo-yo :rotfl:

After breakfast some more characters outside the restaurant. Lewis met Eeyore

2010_1012disney100071.jpg

Pluto then messed about with him - which he loved

Abbey loves Pluto, so she was happy
2010_1012disney100074.jpg

Rabbit was there too - very cuddly

We made a quick stop back to the room so we could wrap up a bit, but by the time we got outside the sun had come out and it was warming up a bit.

John however continued to feel the cold

We decided that today would be a Studios day. I know a lot of people don't really bother with it, but we all manage to find loads to do, and keep all the kids happy. Was a bit upset that Art of Animations was closed as we always enjoy drawing in here.

First stop was TSPL, and a look at Radiator Springs on the way

2010_1012disney100080.jpg

Mark and Abbey decided to queue for Crush. It was showing 50 minutes, but they really wanted to go on this. So John, Lewis and I went onto Slinky - walk on.

2010_1012disney100082.jpg

We had a stroll down the other end of TSPL and met Rex

2010_1012disney100084.jpg

RC Racer goes so high!!
2010_1012disney100085.jpg

We then wandered out the other end of TSPL and via what we all think will be the Ratatoullie part

2010_1012disney100087.jpg

We did Cars and then Flying Carpets.

2010_1012disney100089.jpg

We met up with Mark and Abbey and I did RC Racer with them - wow, what a ride! Quite short again, but amazing!

Whilst we did this John and Lewis did Carpets again and Lewis got his photo with Buzz.

We all met up and Lewis met some more characters:
2010_1012disney100093.jpg

This guy stole Lewis' dagger and he chased him all over the place to get it back!
2010_1012disney100095.jpg

2010_1012disney100096.jpg

Lewis hid his dagger from Captain Hook - didn't want to start anything!

2010_1012disney100098.jpg

We then did Animagique. We'd never seen this before and I was quite surprised by how good it was. A big hit with us all. Next it was time for Cinemagique, which we had seen before, but still enjoyed. Lewis loves the sword part. We then went onto the tram tour which is a bit poor now with so many changes and no commentry.

2010_1012disney100105.jpg

The park was so quiet!
2010_1012disney100107.jpg

Now it was time for some lunch. We went to the Blockbuster Cafe and sat in the Pirates part. We had Croques and Lewis had a Mickey shaped pizza.

Lunch was good and very quiet inside - nice to relax in some peace.

When we had finished lunch, we noticed the parade was just starting and found a spot. This was great. Cue photos......

After this we watched the Stunt show - still great, with a few changes. They don't pick stars for the movie from the audience anymore - just someone to drive the remote control car. Still very impressive.

Next Mark and Abbey did Aerosmith. We checked the time for the next Playhouse Disney show, but was a bit of a wait. We all went back to TSPL where John, Mark and Abbey did RC Racer. Lewis and I did Slinky again and Lewis got a Toy Story toy. I noticed that everytime I used my shareholders card a manager had to be called to authorise it. The CM serving me was very apologetic for us having to wait. She said that they used to be to just scan the card, but not anymore. I didn't mind waiting.

We wanted to try the parachutes and the wait had been 40 minutes or more each time. We had noticed however the the actual wait had been less for all of the other rides, so we queued. Lewis wasn't sure, but decided to be brave and try it. I took these pictures inside the queueing area:

The ride was really good, but a very slow loader. There are boxes at the side of the ride to put your bags in. To release the seatbelt remember to press the small arrow button on the seat! Loads of people got stuck with this!

We all went on Cars after this, a first for Mark and Abbey who are usually doing other rides whilst Lewis keeps happy on this

2010_1012disney100166.jpg

I took a picture of this warning sign as it became the theme for the whole trip. John told Lewis that it meant 'no dancing' so everytime we got on a ride Lewis would shout 'No Dancing!'

2010_1012disney100164.jpg

After this it was time for Buffalo Bills Wild West Show. We managed to purchase tickets using the French Website discount for 39E each. Lewis was in cowboy heaven, he absolutely loves hats/pistols and anything cowboy related. I liked the food, and the kids ate well but John didn't really enjoy the food.

2010_1012disney100169.jpg

After this we had intended on going into the Village or for a stroll around the lake but we were exhaused to just went back to the hotel.

We thought the likeness here was just uncanny.......

I love all the character photos, I think that the character interaction in the DLH is really good, I thoroughly enjoyed it when we stayed there. DH and I got stuck on parachutes, felt like total eejits:lmao:
