We get to visit HH for the first time at the end of October and were planning to check out on Saturday, October 31. Does anyone know if there's usually a Halloween party :scared1: or some special activity that might make us re-think our departure date?

(it IS my birthday :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: and I'd hate to miss something fun, but we probably should start the drive home on the 31st ...... although we're notorious for deciding to 'just stay one more night')

Thanks.

It looks like you're the first DISer to stay at HHI over Halloween, so you'll have to report to us on how it is! We're devoted to Thanksgiving.

We'll be at HHI over Halloween weekend! No children with us, but we're looking forward to enjoying the time at HHI whatever happens.

Bumping this up - I'm considering going to HHI over Halloween weekend too, anyone have more info on activities, a party, etc?

Thanks!

When we were there in August I had asked at the front desk what they do for halloween. They told me there is trick or treating at different spots in the resort (ie front desk, & gift shop,) and they would be doing halloween crafts that day. Hope this helps.

Thank you!

Would anyone have the number for the front desk at HHI? I thought I'd see if they have the activity sheet yet for next weekend.

Appreciate it :)

The phone number on our reservation is: 843-341-4100.

still not sure if we'll check out Saturday or Sunday but it sounds like fun :)

We're just back from our first HHI trip. Decided to stay an additional night, so we were there over the 31st. Unfortunately, we didn't participate in anything, so I don't have first hand experience. Can't believe I lost track of time and missed the campfire!
For trick or treating, there was a CM in a fantastic costume right outside our villa. It was one of the designated trick or treating spots, and she'd set up a pathway through the shrubs and kids were told to walk down the little path and select their favorite bug. There must have been 50 small bugs on the ground that were about 3" big. They appeared to be brightly painted, and perhaps made of metal.
There was trick or treating at the Shelter Cove Marina stores (the Disney property is in the Shelter Cove compound) from approximately 1-5PM that afternoon. That's just a 5" walk from the resort.

Another CM was on the boardwalk dressed as a clown, and she was lots of fun. She asked for a joke, and if you didn't have one, she came prepared, she had a pumpkin filled with some for you to pick and read. One of the lifeguards was dressed as a pirate and had treasure chest candies.

Shadow was in the shelter over the marsh.

The campfire was fun, with songs, stories and s'mores.

We are just back too! Had a great time, so glad we stayed for Halloween, my 9 year old DD had a wonderful time trick or treating the resort. The weather was beautiful for Halloween too, spent the morning at the Beach House, even played in the ocean with her although it was a little cold.

I think every trick or treating station had something for the kids to do to earn their candy. Along with what's been mentioned DD made a witches brew by the hot tub, played silent Simon says and made a basket (choice of shooting a basketball or doing a push up).

BTW at the back point there was a ghost, and I can't remember now what you had to do for her. I was thinking too hard about her saying she "was the friendly ghost" and the stories I've read here! Wondered if there was more behind that!

Got to meet Shadow at the end of the fishing pier and she was there by the S'more line at the campfire too. B'Lou told some Halloween kind of stories after the campfire singing. So much fun! Loved it :thumbsup2
