What are some fun things to do Halloween night with a 13 and 11 yr old when we are not going to MHP. We would still like to do something festive, but we will get kicked out of DL at 6 and not sure if we want to fight the massive crowds at DCA.
Are there other fun Halloween things in the area or at DLR but don't involve being suffocated by mass crowds.

Me & my husband will be there on a MHP night (not Halloween night though) and won't be participating. Instead, we are doing the Sonoma Terrace PTN reception. Not sure if this would be ideal for your family, as it is more $ with more people of course, but it's still cheaper than the party. Also it's not specifically Halloween themed, though it's such a fun parade and you'd get prime seats. I know DCA will be crowded but I'm hoping having the seats and yummy food tray + entertainment will make it not so bad. Maybe check out Knott's Berry Farm too if you're willing to go off site?

I was also going to suggest Knotts Berry Farm. I haven’t been in years, but I know they have Knotts Scary Farm. People love it! If your kids are able to handle scary stuff, it might be a fun change from Disneyland.

Goofy’s for dinner? That’s what I did with mine last year on the MHP during our trip that we didn’t go to. Not necessarily festive but fun.

You could check out the GCH and get their festive treats.

Medieval Times or the pirate dinner? Again not Halloween related but could be fun.
