I'm a Christmas person :santa: so while I've been to all the parks a few times I've never been at a Disney Park at Halloween.

I was just wondering if DLP has much for Halloween?
WDW has countless Halloween parties. But it's not something DLP seems to do except for one night I've noticed.
Plus there is a "Halloween Festival" but I'm not sure what that is or means?

I'm not too fussed on special events...I'd just like to know if there are any during mid October? (13-19th Oct)

For example does the Dreams show change during this time? Are there lots of decorations and special merch?

Thanks pixiedust:

I havent been at Halloween time for 12/13 years but what I do remember is they have lots of decorations up and really get into the spirit of it all. There deffo was extra stuff to buy in the shops too.

Last year the whole Halloween thing was really scaled down. Barely any decorations, no pumpkin men and a minimum amount of things to buy. They also had more than one party then but we were all quite disappointed by the one we went to.

If I recall correctly they have said to expect even less this year as they are focussing on the anniversary.

I actually don't mind this. I think the anniversary is far more exciting. :thumbsup2
I'd rather be at the 30th at EPCOT...but hey...it's still Disney ;)
I've got photos with 15th on the castle so having 20th ones would be nice for the collection.
I'm just wondering what to expect and what the Festival is and if it will change any 'normal' shows or displays.

Thank you :goodvibes

Well last year the "festival" meant some garlands around Main Street, the Villains show on the stage (not sure if this will be happening again seeing the stage at the Hub was removed), "Trick or Treat" with Mickey on the Castle stage (another small show with characters), villains out near Phantom Manor and Jack Skellington and Sally out.

No changes to the parades.

In the previous shareholders round table Mr Gas stated that the park made a mistake with the scale back for last years Halloween and said this year will be alot better.

Thank you, I missed that part.

With all the cut backs lately one can only hope.

I hope they do have more this year. I'm thinking of a sneaky October trip if I can find enough pennies ;)

We had the most amazing trip in October 2010, I'd hate to go back at that time of year and not have Frontierland looking good.

That sounds nice.

And if it is a bit more but not TOO much that would be a good balance.

Here's hoping :wizard:

Hmm, I am keeping an eye on this thread (and what happens this year at DLRP with Halloween). We were there at the beginning of the Halloween celebrations in 2008 and we adored it - thought it was very clever, the park looked amazing etc. I had been thinking about a half term Halloween trip in the last few years, but then heard it was scaled back so decided against it.

We are going end November so our first Christmas season and can't wait :cool1:, but if Halloween is back to it's best this year, I'd be persuaded to book for next year. I don't think we'll get any other time next year as we have a holiday in the sun booked for Easter :beach:. Perhaps summer as part of a longer French holiday but the transport is proving difficult .

Fingers crossed MNSSHP returns :goodvibes. I personally LOVED the pumpkin men - every day we'd get up and see more and more of the park turning orange :wizard:.

Had a lot of personal life stuff going on so I haven't been keeping a close eye on things...

Have we had any more updates on what might or might not be happening this Halloween???
o-ween...

Another couple of questions -
If you were going to go to an Inventions Character meal would you go to a Sunday Brunch or later Dinner...if you were attempting to have less children around ;)
It is SOOO expensive now I'd only go to one meal, and I do like the look of some of the themed meals so if it were the right theme I'd be very tempted to go to a Sunday Brunch. But are they very busy?

When would they release the theme for the 14th October?

Where do you get the best UNUSUAL outfits for characters at meals?

Thanks

We went last Halloween and we loved it, I know a lot of people didn't like it but it was our first visit at this time of year so nothing to compare it to...

Inventions tends to always have lots of children... We did the Sunday brunch last October, it was hawian themed with Lilo and stitch. We have been a few times for dinner but I really liked the Sunday brunch and would happily do that again. It wasn't too busy and my DS liked the novelty of meeting stitch who was really funny and seeing all the other character dressed differently.

We are going back in October this year and it will be nice if the Halloween theming is a bit more but sure it will still be good.
