Could someone also explain the hours that the Halloween party starts and how much earlier the park closes to the public without tickets for it? I looked at the "charts" that show the park hours and what days the Halloween party takes place, but it's like reading logistical information posted by NASA. :confused3

As I recall - the MK closes around 6pm, if one has the ticket to the MNSSHP and enters after 4pm one can get a wrist band. There are many places through out the park to get them, just show the ticket if you are already in the park. If you enter after 4pm you will be banded as you enter in front of the train station before you go under the overpass/tracks.

We like to make a dinner reservation for a sit down restaurant for about 530pm, this way the crowd is thinned out before we head out to play.

The party officially starts at 7pm. At the banding stations and at each "trick or treat" station the cast have bags (for loot!) and maps of the "candy stations" where you get to go trick or treating!

Most of the rides were open as I recall. I do think that Big Thunder Mountain is open.

Many of the villian characters are out and about - be sure to get a good location for the parade. Be lined up at least 30 minutes prior if you want to get a good picture of the head-less horseman. I have found that standing at the bridge by the castle, on the side across from the funnel cake place is a great location. One gets a full face view of the horseman, is protected from the push of the crowd, and the horseman stops at the VIP station on the other side of the bridge. He is amazing. Running through the park in the dark on a horse with no head (the rider really can't see - the horse is trained I have been told...)

Here is the spoiler alert....

I hunted through some old pictures, here is a sample of some things to look for!
The resorts have a carving contest, these are from the Coronodo Springs 2007:

And be sure to look at the hub - the character statues are in costume!!! I didn't notice this until the second time I went to the party.

I'm sorry, but there is nothing there that I would find remotely attractive. Yeah, they have nice bodies, but they all look completely vaccant and Barbie-ish. I think that for most of the lesbian community, they forgot the lesbians too.

We met one of the "bar maids" whist at CSR....no self respecting lesbian would want to go there. sheese - I do like a little conversation. She had to look up her boss's name for us. (we had asked some question that I don't recall now)

I can't recall the name of the winner of the Bravo fashion clothing (project Runway?) series his tag line was "Fierce" to everything...anyway he had been at the Rio during gay week. She was all hyped up about it - I dont' think she even realized what a queen he is....folks like this give female a bad name in my mind.

6 o'clock???
*sigh*
We won't be attending MNSSHP. The party takes place on the 28th, 30th and 31st, which means I guess the only day we'll be able to go to the Magic Kingdom (and actually enjoy a full day) will be the 29th......which is going to be hard since we have reservations elsewhere during the day. :guilty:

I know I sound like a party pooper, but this vacation is proving to be more problematic than fun at the moment, especially with the medical bills/problems and financial problems I'm currently facing.

Are you staying at one of the WDW resorts? If so, use the early hours entry - the extra hour really does help.
