We have been advised by both cast members and our travel agent to book our next trip the first week of November so we can enjoy Halloween and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party as well as Christmas and the Christmas Party. Has anyone else done this?? If we are looking at Oct 31 through November 5. Do they really transition over night?

You would not be able to attend the Christmas party unless you extend your stay. There is usually a MNSSHP date in Nov., but the last time Halloween fell on a Friday, that was the last party of the season. It is possible that they will schedule the last MNSSHP for Nov. 2. MVMCP did not start until Nov. 8, last year. You would see some decorations in MK by the 5th, but the party will not start by then.

So maybe by moving our trip a few days....Nov 2 to Nov 7 or 8? When do they announce the party dates?

We should know by mid April. If they decided not to do MNSSHP in November, you would need to arrive by the 31 to catch it. The first MVMCP will likely be Nov. 7, this year.

agree. There is no guarantee there will be a November 1st Halloween party and the Christmas party wont likely start till November 7th.

They don't transition over night it takes about a week but agree with others that your original dates probably will not work. Also shifting them probably won't work. You most likely will need to add a day or two.

I have done that trip in 2011 (Oct. 31 - Nov. 7) and we went to MNNSHP on Halloween, but we were not there for the first Christmas Party as that didn't start until the 9th that year. We went to MK on Nov. 6th and most of the Christmas Decorations were up (except the tree), but we got to see most of the Christmas stuff at MK. We also went to HS on Nov. 1 and they had most of their Chrismtas decorations up that day.

OP it really depends on what day of the week Halloween falls. I guess last year it was Thursday so they added one more day to extend it to Friday, a day people would more likely go to, which then works out nicely that the first MVMCP would start the next week end.

This year I can see the the last MNSSHP being friday and then again the first MVMCP starts up the next weekend.
