You all are a WEALTH of information:)! And, so willing to share:)!

I need to ask you to share some wisdom/ideas on this situation. We'll be at PBR from 10/25 - 10/28. I've plotted out our rides...purchased the movies "ET," "Jurassic Park," "MIB," and "Jaws." We'll watch (and re-watch:) these to get us up to speed for the attractions.

The only thing I'm worried about is the degree of "scariness" in the parks during our stay. Our 10 year old is really sensitive to this kind of thing. She didn't like WDW two years ago when we were there during Halloween:(

Any suggestions regarding what we could do in the evenings if this is when the parks really "put on their show"?

Thanks for your help:)! And, any input regarding the PBR is welcomed too:)!

Those days you are there, Halloween Horror Nights will be in full effect. The parks will close early, there will be all kinds of commotion going on at the studios....there will be parties in Citywalk......its not looking good. My best suggestion, do a movie or two.....poolhop from hotel to hotel. Portofino Bay has a great pool with great slides, and they encourage poolhopping. Also check to see when they have poolside movies, which they usually have on Saturday nights. Also....if you want to try and book one night at the Nick hotel down the road, they have all kinds of trick or treating and whatnot going on. Also during the day at that time Sea World has a great kids HHN program that is not scary at all.
My best advice...get lost at night.

do what yaytez suggests.

some other thoughts are:

each hotel on site have children/family entertainment certain days of the week.
you have dinner and entertainment for the family.
at the hotels they have magician entertainment, character dinners, etc.

the rph has the luaus a great dinner show for all ages.

all the pools have a dive in night where a family movie is shown at the pool area.

We were there last year during this time and will be there this year also while HHN goes on. We have a very sensitive 9 year old autistic son. During the day last year the parks were pretty empty- We did not notice much halloween stuff during the day. We stayed at both parks till closing and then hit the resort for the night. There is SO much to do at PB- you will love it! My son loves the resort so much he does not want to leave it to go to the parks. We just returned from our fifth stay there this year and it was wonderful!

Take a ride down I-drive and you will find plenty of things to do ranging from free to much more costly.

Go to Old Town and hang out one night. It's "free" as far as admission and parking. There is always a live band or two and on Saturday nights they do a classic car show. Of course there are all kinds of things to do that you could end up paying extra for (food, the mechanical bull, carnival rides, shops, etc...).

A fairly cheap (and really neat) option is the Putting Edge mini golf course at the mall of millenia. It's indoor, glow-in-the-dark, black-light-reactive miniature golf. It's really cool. It would cost about $7 for your daughter and $9 for you.

Another thing I've really enjoyed in the past are the dinner-theaters. Of course, on average it will cost you about $45 per person, so it is pricey. There are definitely cheaper tickets on the internet though and it is usually good food and a full night of entertainment you will both really enjoy that is far away from the parks and anything scary. Capone's is one of my favorites, but they can be pretty sarcastic. The Dixie Stampede is lots of fun too and I think it has the BEST food. There's also the Sleuth Mystery show which is only about 5 minutes from Universal and is an awesome experience. There's Medieval Times, Arabian Nights, the Pirate Dinner Theater, and one about Newlyweds that I don't know the name of, since I've never made it there. I've never been disappointed with any of them.
