Hi, newbie runner here. My family and I are going to be doing the halloween 5k in about 2.5 weeks. I'm having a hard time finding out info on this race as far as packet pickup. All the official websites seem to indicate that we MUST attend packet pickup on Friday, betwee 12 and 8. I was hoping to avoid this so we could do food/wine fest before attending MNSSHP.

I have done some digging and have found "final race instructions" for the previous two years, which both indicate that late packet pickup can be done the morning of the race. Can anyone confirm that they were able to do this?

Also, I haven't received any final race instructions for this year, and can't find any on the internet, I'm assuming they just haven't been sent out yet?

Actually, final instructions have been up on runDisney. A couple NEW things I note for the 5k that I have not seen in the past.

1) There is a baggage check for the 5k. Does not mean there has not been one, but it is the first time I note it there.

2) NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP. This is new. In the past, Disney has treated the 5k like most 5k races and allowed race day pick ups. This is a change from past 5k's so I would get to the expo on Friday.

Thanks so much for posting this!!! I searched and searched and couldn't find it.

That really stinks about the packet pickup. Now I'm gonna have to leave Epcot and miss much of the food/wine fest:sad:

I was at the Halloween 5K last year and they did have a bag check (which I used). With the expo, I would get there as close to opening as you can. 5K packet pick up is pretty quick since there are fewer runners for it than the bigger races. Grab your packet, and head right on out...get the first bus to whichever host resort so you are not waiting around. Then just wait for a park bus there. Or, if time is a huge issue, you could always take a cab.

Ditto!
