Halloween 2015 trip - help me plan, please!

Your ticket to MNSSHP is actually your ticket into the park. I would do Animal Kingdom in the morning, come back to the resort for the little one to nap in the afternoon and freshen up for your big night. No park hopper needed!

I called for info today and the Halloween tickets are definitely non refundable, the CM said they will go on sale the end of April or beginning of May. I am looking at the cost of the party and starting to get nervous, this might be out of our budget. Bet I'd hate to be there at Halloween season again and not go to the party. I also realized the week after (am looking at oct 30- nov 7) is jersey week and that's a blackout week for any discounts. Sigh.
We have gone during Jersey week twice and both times we got room only discounts, last time was 25% off moderate, the time before that I believe it was 35% off of our deluxe. This year we are checking in on 10/31 and hoping for (but not counting on) free dining. Last year I believe that the last day for check in for FD was November 1st. So just to let you know some kind of discount will come out even if it is a room only :)

We are going Oct 17-22 and planning on doing the party on Tuesday, the 20th (provided one is scheduled of course). We plan on doing DTD the day of the party as of right now, but of course things could change. I'm fairly certain that with a party ticket, you can get into MK at 4pm, but the actual party doesn't start til 7. That buys you a few extra hours in MK on party day. We've never gone to the party before so I'm interested in hearing everyone's input as well!

I was thinking of doing the 20th also, was kind of bummed they didn't have one scheduled for the 21st as that's our anniversary, but oh well! I'm hoping that it won't be overly crowded with it being a Tuesday night, but judging from what I've read, this is becoming such a HUGE draw, it's hard to find a night that it's not packed...We were down in June 2013 and if we could deal with those crowds, it shouldn't bother us that much!

I'm trying to decide what my group should do the day of the Halloween Party. We are going Oct. 16-26 and the group consists of me, my father (66), DH, DD (8), DS (6) and DS (1). I've read about other groups doing water parks, DTD, staying at their hotel, doing half a day at another park, some like to be in MK all day...what are your suggestions? What has worked best for you? Anything I should definitely avoid?
We go at the end of October and our MNSSHP is always our pool day, then we eat lunch at resort. Get dressed and head to MK around 3-4pm

Thats exactly what we do! The weather last Oct 31 was so beautiful for the pool, we had a relaxing day then went to the party at 4pm.

For now, I've decided to do AK the morning of our party, then head back to the resort (AoA) to swim/nap/eat lunch, and then head to the party around 3:30. My reasoning: the next day we'll be doing Blizzard Beach so we can relax after being up late the night before, plus we can sleep a little later if we need to since the water parks don't open until 10. Still have 6 months to make a final decision, so those plans might change! :rotfl:

I've read elsewhere that Tuesday nights are generally the least crowded. We are so excited to go! Agreed, we've braved Spring Break crowds, so I'm sure the party will be manageable comparatively!

We usually go on Halloween night, and since this year it will be on a saturday i'm sure it will be sold out again and very crowded. but there will be 4 parties the week we are there and i'm sure all of them will be sold out and crowded. i just have to make sure this year we aren't anywhere near the hub after the fireworks!

I think someone mentioned this earlier as well, but definitely check the crowd calendars. I think you will want to swap your first EP and MK days based on the preliminary calendar on easywdw. I am going the last week of October as well and have been waiting for the full October crowd calendar to be posted.

We are also checking in on Halloween and I'm planning on taking my 8-year old niece to the party. I'd love to take my daughter but she will only be 1year old and I don't think she'll be able to stay up past 7. Has anyone taken a 1 year old to the party and had a successful experience?
