Halloween 2011. Oct 29th on the Magic

I read it as the sail date...there's no way we can do it on the 29th...I personally would rather do halloween on halloween..but if they do it on the 30th I won't be so mad...

so does anyone know if they'll serve lobster at Topsiders on formal night...I don't really want to dress the boys up and myself its not easy being so dressed up with the kids...

It's ok for you and the boys not to dress up on formal night. I tend to shy away from formal wear and just wear what I would wear to a cocktail party. Think LBD. Formal dress is suggessted but you can wear whatever you want.

We are skipping formal night this year...DH is so thrilled! :goodvibes We have done it many times in the past, and DH was hoping I would give him at least one night we would skip dinner entirely, so formal night it is :lovestruc
I really hope they do Halloween on the 31st. I see no point in moving a holiday. My boys are big on Halloween so we will be doing the ToT and activities, they are so excited :cool1:

One more day torn off the countdown chain, it is getting shorter:thumbsup2

...

Anyone have any plans for the weekend...

My Dad's down from Connecticut this weekend; We're going on a three-hour bus tour of DC (courtesy of Groupon) and having some dinners out.

I won't be worrying about doctor's appointments (although I'll be sticking to my new diet) - I made it through my stress test yesterday, and my next appointment is a follow-up with my eye-doctor on the 14th.

Good morning everyone. EIGHT WEEKS until our turn.

DH has left for camp and won't be home until Monday morning so a quiet weekend here. The laundry hamper is overflowing (or close) so I need to get some of that taken care of, run the vac, clean the kitchen and all that rot.

Timmer - enjoy your time with your Dad - precious moments!

so, anyone wanna start chatting about the cruise?? We could start a guessing game, making predictions....what movies will be onboard at the time? When will they do halloween activities and what will they be??
Also, maybe we could make a list of excursions so we can see if anyone is doing the same....
just ideas.

That sounds like a great idea.

Movies - In my 12 previous cruises on DCL I have only been to one movie and that was when Narnia came out and they showed it in the WDT. DH went when we were on the PC trip and saw _____ - the one with Sandra Bullock and the young man that became the football player. I have not seen the latest Pirates movie so I would go and see that if they show it at a time I have nothing else on my agenda.

Halloween - I bet they do it on Monday - I can't see as they have much choice and it is a sea day. How many of you have sailed for Halloween (or when they have the activities)?

Excursions - We are walking to the winery in Key West and wherever else DH wants to go (the bar I would guess). GC we are doing Rays, Reef and Rum Point and then Nachi in Cozumel.

Have a nice weekend with your dad. I'm going to most likely drive to Chicago tomorrow to see my dad.....we just sit in his condo he's 96 so we dont really go anywhere....but its always good to see him.

congrats on sticking to your diet...I was just diagnosed with diabetes the end of last year....my sugars are doing ok, but I do seem to struggle some with the diet....I have done really well on cutting down on the sweets now I have to learn how to cut back on the carbs and such:sad2: I was not happy with the diagnosis, :confused3 oh well...just learning to deal with it all.

I have to say, I guess I dont keep up all that well with the movies coming out by Disney...but I'm thinking they may show the new pirate movie, which would be fine....I love Johnny Depp:love:
the last movie I saw on the ship was Beverly Hills Chihuahua...I thought that was a really cute movie....

I'm us for talking cruise.....so lets discuss!!:thumbsup2

We are not doing any excursions in Key West. Just walk around..the boys want to go to the giant shell store! LOL!
In Cozumel, the boys are doing Dolphinaris. In Grand Cayman, we plan to just hit one of the closer beaches to check it out. We are not much on doing a lot of excursions. Our youngest is still 4 so there isnt much for him and DH doesnt like to do the excursions that take all day. We love spending time on the ship.
We like to try and see at least two movies onboard....we love going to the movies. So we are hoping for some good ones!:thumbsup2

In Key West we are doing the town trolley train tour....I did this the last time I was there, it was a good way to see everything but they dont make any stops.....I'm only doing this again as Wally did not go last time, went with a girlfriend....so he wants to see this.....
Cozumel Jeep exploration....I'm thinking this will be fun...but its 4.5 hrs and I want time for shopping which I'm sure there wont be to much time left to do that.
Grand Caymen we are doing 7 mile beach.....
Castaway....sitting on a hammock with a drink in my hand:thumbsup2
now thats the good life....

Denise

Denise- I went on the website for the train tour and it says they stop 3 times....curious to see if it is different. We are thinking of doing the train tour.:goodvibes

Well maybe they changed it....last time we just stayed on and drove around...he didnt even stop to get the picture at the "southern most point" thingy.....hopeful they stop this time....

I just cancelled my palo dinner and booked parasailing at castway for myself, Wally wont do it....yikes...I'm scared of heights, but from what I ready, people say even if you are its really calm once your up....so I may give it a shot....I still have time to chicken out and cancel it...:thumbsup2

Hope everyone is enjoying this Labor day weekend! I saw a movie list that someone had emailed about their Dream Oct 30 sailing and this was the list they received, I say we may have these on our sailing as well.
The Help
Winnie The Pooh
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Prom
Cars 2 (in 3D)
Fright Night

We haven't really decided on excursions having visited these ports many times, do we do what we know we love or try something new...lol. Thats our problem...:confused3

Tammy

Tammy thank you for listing the movies. We love the theater on the ship so We will be seeing the following covered in a blanket with our popcorn and drinks.
The Help
Winnie The Pooh
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Fright Night (Hopefully this is playing on Halloween to make the night complete)

Excursions: I did this cruise 25 years ago from the date of this cruise so i want to compare the places to what they used to be(except key west its only been a few years ago)
Key West- Were thinking about taking the trolly. We found if you by the tickets ahead of time we save money and its hope off and on. The Disney one does not allow stops.
Cozumel were not sure yet. We have a tour with the ruins booked with Disney but we found a place to see the ruins closer and its just 5 miles from the port.
Grand Cayman- We booked the island tour with the turtle farm but Annette heard the turtle farm is not great so we might change that. I want to visit george town and walk on the beach.
CC- I have a cabana booked at the adult beach which includes the things we usually do so we will see.
I also have Palo-brunch, tea and dinner booked.

Otherwise you will find me either reading, playing card games or doing homework at the adult pool with a drink in my hand.

For this weekend, i'm doing homework and hanging with the cutiest great nephew in the world.

We want to do the train instead of the Trolley...Liam loves trains and when he saw the photo on the website, he was so excited:goodvibes

Amanda- you got tea?? You are so lucky. we couldnt get it online so we are hoping to get it onboard. So, you are spending CC day at the adult beach...cool. We might have to come over for some buckets of beer:thumbsup2
We plan to hit a beach on GC too. One close though. My mom has an ECV and limited walking, so we know some things will be hard for her. But we found out the train tour in KW can accomodate, so that is good!

Good morning! Nothing new to report here. Cool today - not even going to make 70 so they say. We shall see - only 61 now.

Take care, enjoy and be safe!

We've booked our excursions:

Key West: we've found what others have, the Trolley Tour booked through their website is hop on-and-off all afternoon at a slightly lower price, so we'll go with that. There is an off-chance that Tracey's parents could meet us in KW (if they can get a room due to Fantasy Fest), in which case we'd have a private tour with them.

Grand Cayman: We're taking the Island Tour.

Cozumel: The Atlantis Submarine Adventure.

Castaway Cay: We took the Extreme Getaway Package (Ray experience, snorkel gear, day-long tube rental and 1-hour bicycle rental).

We've never been to any of the ports-of-call, so we'll take all the advice anyone has to offer.

On-board, we've got one Paolo dinner, but couldn't book a brunch or tea, which we would like to do.
