Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

I saw this one and liked it a lot!

I haven't watched these before. Do you need to see them in a particular order?

No. They are based on a song by Blake Shelton who executive produced the first movie, then when it was successful, he turned it into the series. They are running out of pronouns though. So, this may be the last new movie. :lmao:

I liked the first movie, Time for Me to Come Home, the best. Then the one where the woman gets amnesia, Time for Them to Come Home. Some of the others aren't written as well, in my opinion as the writers tried to come up with stories to fit the title.

Speaking of writers....If you look at the writing team for the "Time for..." movies, it includes Marcy Holland, who is the sole writer listed for "A Biltmore Christmas." She's also the only writer listed for "Time for Him..." I have a feeling after "Biltmore," she may be given more solo projects (if they don't lose her to the big time.) :)

Just watched The Holiday Dating Guide again. It's a movie from last year on Lifetime. I like this movie. It's On Demand on Lifetime on Spectrum Cable. (Maybe other providers too. Don't know how that works.)

I cannot remember the name of the Time for her, him, them, me, etc. to come home but the only one I really enjoyed was the one with Alison Sweeney who returns to her hometown with her teen son after her husband's passing.

I'm getting ready to watch tonight's movie with Brooke D'orsay. I really do not care for Will Kemp but since I like her, I will give it a chance.

I have not been that impressed with many of this year's movies honestly. I did like the Scottish Christmas movie and Biltmore Christmas but not much else has stood out to me on any of the networks. I don't get GAC at home but I'm at my son's house and watched a few on there this afternoon including the dancing movie with Jen Lilley. It was fine but again, nothing that wowed me. Maybe I'm Christmas'd out....

Watching Holiday Ride and enjoying it!

I think you mean Holiday Road on Hallmark. I haven't seen it yet. But it's at a rating of 7.3 on the IMDb .com by 603 viewers. That's a great rating for that number of people. I think currently, only A Biltmore Christmas has a higher rating this season, so far, at 8.2 with 1.2K viewers who've voted.

Hallmark Channel: DOUBLE FEATURE!
2️⃣ Holiday Road

Re-airs: Wed 12/6 at 6pm ET
Starring: Sara Canning and Warren Christie.
Description: Inspired by true events. When bad weather leaves each of them stranded at the airport for the holidays, a tech entrepreneur (Christie), a travel writer (Canning), a devoted mother (Enid-Raye Adams) and her son (Kiefer O’Reilly), a stubborn senior, an enigmatic woman with a hint of mystery, a couple traveling from Hong Kong, and a social media influencer all agree to rent a shared van to embark on a road trip to Denver. When their unexpected journey brings them into uncharted territory, they navigate a series of misadventures together and form a deeper bond that just might change the trajectories of each of their lives.

Humor me here.... Have I already asked this group, does Will Kemp remind anyone else of "Data", aka Brent Spiner? Every movie I see him in, I see Data, lol. Maybe his mannerisms....idk. Tonight's movie was typical Hallmark, misunderstanding, fall out, make up, etc. Fine, not great.

I don't see the resemblance. Maybe because they're both slender?

I tend to not know the actors by name, so I just Googled him. I kind of see it.

Yeah everything Christmas must have had a 200$ budget as did the Christmas Island movie with the stranded rich family and the pilot. But I liked that one way more than Everything Christmas
Trying to think what else, one with a pilot and they land on Christmas Island? I didn't realize the main lady was Alice from Batwoman, and that I've seen her in so many things but she is so different in all of them I never realize it's all her.
Watching Christmas Island, is this new or old? Working, so I missed some bits and pieces, but darnit if it hasn't made me sniffle a few times.
Rachel Skarsten has really turned into a very good actress. I really enjoyed her in "Royal Nanny".

I liked Christmas Island too. Definitely, Rachel Skarsten and Andrew Walker made this movie work. :thumbsup2

I liked Rachel in Royal Nanny. It was one of my favorite movies of last season.

A NOT SO ROYAL CHRISTMAS

I agree. While I like Will Kemp, this wasn't the part for him.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries:
A Season for Family
Starring:
Stacey Farber and Brendan Penny.
Description: Maddy's adopted son Wesley has just one Christmas wish: to meet his brother Cody, who was adopted into a different family. Cody’s father Paul is a widower who is not ready to have this conversation with his son, so he turns down a meeting. However, circumstances bring the two brothers unknowingly together and they become fast friends, while sparks fly between Maddy and Paul.
A SEASON FOR FAMILY

I really liked this one. One thing I've noticed regarding the movies (at least most of the Hallmark ones) for this year - they seem to actually be developing the characters better than in the past. It may have to do with the limited movies that were produced (for whatever reason) this year. Maybe they finally were listening to those of use who were getting REALLY tired of the "Hallmark formula" of boy/girl meets new/old boyfriend/girlfriend. Misunderstanding occurs and they break up, and then realize they belong together.
So far, I've watched Mystery on Mistletoe Lane, A World Record Christmas, and A Season for Family, and I'm definitely enjoying this year's crop of movies!

I watched A Season for Family. It was written similarly to the "Godwink" movies, where a series of "coincidences" constantly brings the two brothers together.

I liked it a lot. Except for one section where the male lead was mentally and emotionally constipated for a good 25 minutes, two-thirds into the movie, in which nothing really happens. It was like they had to fill in 25 minutes worth of time to fit the time slot because they couldn't end the movie early. Once he had his "bowel movement" and awakening, of course we get our happy, misty-eyed ending. 🥰 So you might fast-forward over that section.

I would have given it a good 8/10 if it wasn't for that. Others on the IMDb .com agree as it comes in a solid 7.0 in their ratings.

Ha, I am watching him right now, and that is now all I can think. He doesn't remind me, but I can totally see why he would.

Yes, I tried carefully not to think this one over too much :tiptoe: in case it gets stuck in my head too. 🥴 :lmao:

We've been watching a hallmark movie about every other night. My husband is actually watching them with me. We saw the Biltmore one last night. I'm a tad bit haunted by it today, trying to figure out why. I have always loved time travel movies and the implications that could happen. I did enjoy the movie and it seemed they had a bigger budget for this one, over some of the other ones we've seen, HOWEVER, I wasn't a fan of how the movie played out and could have thought of a different ending...sorta funny considering the plot.

Bringing Christmas Home (Hallmark) 6/10 . I thought I would like this one more than I did but the ending really killed it for me. It seemed like they cut a scene when they shouldn't have and it gave me whiplash. I liked the leads and the side characters well enough it just all together didn't rate as high as I wanted it to

Christmas in Maple Hills (GAF) 8/10 This was an easy watching movie, one you could rewatch and have on in the background. The ending was a bit much in terms of feelings but that is not abnormal for these movies. I thought the flashbacks were done well enough.

A Biltmore Christmas (Hallmark) 8/10 I liked the movie quite a lot except for the ending. It was a mega plot hole that is hard to suspend belief for even for these movies. But the rest of the movie if you ignore that ending was well done. They may have overdone the Biltmore shots (more the exterior) but it does make you want to go there or go back there so job well done lol. The leads and supporting cast (past and present) I liked a lot so that helped the movie plus the whole vibe gave off that cozy feeling. I'd rewatch it and actually pay attention to it (rather than rewatching it as a background movie).

The Santa Summit (Hallmark) 8/10 This movie was hilarious. I actually really liked that it took place in just a few hours. It was a more light-hearted and more IMO about friends with the romance secondary (even though the main plot point is about romance) and that worked out well. It wasn't too too cheesy so a nice movie if you're looking for a break in that. The "driver" (I'm not sure what to call him) that took them from place to place was very funny.

I haven't watched many UP or Lifetimes movies yet this season but I've got majority of Lifetime's movies being set to record at the moment rather than already being recorded.

I'm wondering though if they actually had a bigger budget or if Biltmore paid them (once they agreed upon filming there) a certain amount to allow a lot of "product placement" for lack of a better term. Many of the shots of the movie were actually the exterior of Biltmore, enough of the lines were about Biltmore, it was like a commercial for Biltmore and during actual commercials (even though I fast-forwarded them) most of them were tourism ones for Biltmore or Asheville or just North Carolina so I'm wondering if the Estate and the state chipped in some money towards this movie. It was a well-done movie absolutely but a part of it did feel like there was that tourism edge to it.

Purely speculation but it's not often you see quite as much in your face about an actual real place you can visit in Hallmark movies.
